Love this hike, improvements to parking and the park itself will be amazing when complete. The trail is a moderate hike, and every time I go I love it more!

Highly recommended for a hike along the gorge. There are several paths available and well marked, and you do not have to go the entire length if you don't want to. Plus, there are two entrances, so you can have a volunteer (like me) walk...More

This was a spur of the moment hike I decided to go on since it was only slightly out of my way. I am so glad I did! It was so incredible! I have never seen anything like the scenery at the Watkins Glen State...More

This park is enroute to the Niagara falls from New York. One can marvel at the carvings made by the ribbon-like river on the slate rocks in the park. Excellent hiking trail, a waterfall that you can get real close to and a dramatic landscape...More

We never knew US has such beautiful natural beauty until we visited the Watkins Glen State park. Must visit the place while visiting Niagra falls. Not far away - just need an extra day. When we visited, it was drizzling and that made the place...More

Beautiful, loved it. Need walking shoes or running shoes. We climbed up and up and really enjoyed the gorge-ous view! A bit of a climb but not too intense for us 50 somethings. Take lots of pics, natures beauty!

Just a beautiful place to walk and visit. When we arrived the gift store and entrance was under construction, though we found out later you could access the trail from there. So we drove up by the pool and pavilion and walked down. We walked...More

Loved it, but I would just caution older people or those with bad knees/hips to avoid the 800 stairs. We used up a lot of our energy on this (although it was beautiful---the sound alone is worth the trip); we found if we had taken...More

We visited in October and spent several hours navigating the trails and many wonderful falls. It's a beautiful park and wonderfully maintained- the stone steps and multiple falls are worth the walk on all the trails!!!

Not sure but most likely open. Lots of wineries. Other Finger Lakes are close by and some have waterfall areas. Get a state map and google area online to find attractions.

If your children stay on the trail, near you, and no horsing around or climbing, it might be ok, but this trail is VERY strenuous and there are steep dropoffs with low or no railings.

I dont recall seeing any buses parked around there so I doubt if there is any public transportation.
