Wow! What a glorious, wonderfully renovated building, inside and out! This beautiful building is also a working clinic with friendly medics waiting to help.
Amazing!

This is an architectural gem from the outside but like the People’s Palace and the House of Wonders it is currently closed for renovation and completely inaccessible. Apparently the Aga Khan Foundation is turning it into a health facility? Beautiful to look at despite the corrugated metal fence surrounding the bottom floor, but you can’t go in.

Nice looking build in the Indian colonial style. It also features one of the best restaurants in Stone Town (in my opinion). The Abbysinians Steak House.

Beautiful colonial building near the ferry terminal. Inside, on the ground floor and first floor, are exhibits with photos and information boards about old times on Zanzibar. It’s well worth half an hour of your precious time - and for free to boot!

Beautifully restored, the visit to this building is really just the exterior. There are a few photographs inside and an information board. Bask in the glory of the architecture, then move on.

We were just walking around Stone Town, walked in because the courtyard looked nice, and were offered a quick tour around the building by a local guy. I have no idea if you can officially visit the Dispensary, there were offices in the building. This was a nice surprise visit! Quite an interesting building.

I believe that Zanzibar needs to get its act together. Yes it is a place of exquisite beauty and the people are wonderfully friendly.
The buildings in Stone toen are crumbling and some are not safe to visit as balconies have fallen off..
The roads are the worst We have ever travelled
On with huge potholes making up much if the surface.
The taxi fares are exhirbitant as everything was quoted in USA dollars and not shillings.$50 from the airport. and $50 Back. Another 50 to Stonetown.
Being a South African travelling on a rand budget a cup of coffee will cost R90. As the water is not safe to drink one has to purchase that as well.
THE POLLUTION IS HORRIFIC AND THE CORAL APPEARS TO HAVE DIED. ON OUR DIVING TRIPS WE SAW VERY FEW FISH.
THE SCHOOLS WERE IN A SHOCKING STSTE WITH WALLS AND PARTS OF ROOFS MISSING.

I AM SAD TO BE WRITING THIS REVIEW AS IT IS LARGLYNEGATIVE.BUT IN NO WAY HAVE I EXAGERATED WHAT I SAW ON THIS TROPICAL ISALND SURROUNDED BY ATANZANITE COLOUR SEA.
