A small garden area, maybe not more than 100 metres long on the sea front. Reasonably well kept, plenty of people strolling around and sitting under the trees in the day. At night it comes to life with the food market. Lots of stalls selling finger foods. I love local night food markets, but this lacks anywhere to eat your purchase. No seat anywhere, just the sea wall, so not conducive to a pleasant hour watching local life.

A small oasis of tranquility and shade that is worth visiting after visiting the Old Fort.

Small park located between the fort and the sea, which has a small kiosk.

It is part of the Old Town promenade, where there are rows of old cannons and from where you can have good views of some coastal islands.

Recommended.

Stray cats, beggars, children's playground in a desolate condition, "beach boys" offering you overpriced bullshi*s, and finally, cheaters with street food - absolutely not fresh but totally overpriced, I regret ever visiting this place!

We went to Forodhani food market a few times as it was so close to our hotel. We initially went when they where setting up, and the stalls had no prices displayed. In the evening we went and had sugar cane juice and Zanzibar pizza. It was delicious. We always went to stalls where the prices where displayed. It is a atmospheric place, with lots of locals and tourists. We really enjoyed just sitting by the sea, watching life go past. Would recommend.
