An amazing experience with Halisi African Adventures, we spent 5 days safaris to Like Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater, would highly recommend. The accommodation options were all beautiful (Wildlife Residence, Manyara Best View, and Sounds of Silence tented camp……in particular the tented camp, which is a wonderful experience with absolutely fantastic staff).
Our guide, “Captain”, was fantastic at knowing where to look for wildlife and spotted things from 800 yards that we couldn’t see with binoculars! We travelled as a family and nothing was too much trouble.
Overall, a fantastic experience in a beautiful country. Would highly recommend Halisi African Adventures to show you a little piece of this wonderful part of the world.

We had a fantastic safari with Halisi African Adventures and safari guide John. We visited Lake Manyara, Tarangire abd Ngorongoro.
We travelled with children and they were taken care of in a great way. To be able to show them the African wildlife close up was a success.
John knew how to give us the best possible views of the big five and both a leopard and lions hunting.
He was very attentive to our wishes for perfect placings for exeptional photo opportunities. We were also very well taken care of at the different places we stayed at and We would definitely recommend Halisi African Adventures to those who wish to make the same safari as we did.

We visited Manyara national park on our 5 days safari. the company we booekd with told us that the place is not extremely good during the rain season and after the rains due to the high water levels. As it was our first national park to begin our safari, it was a very experience.I loved the views of the surroudning hills and we were lucky to spot 2 lions near the lake shore. We also saw some elephants and were able to observe them for quite a long time. All in all, a very nice starting point for our safari so for this it can be recommended. I would not see it as a highlight if you have been to Serengeti before but still a very beautiful place. Dorothee and Elizabeth from Tanzania Horizon Safaris gave us very clear insights and a mapof the national park so we knew what to expect. Our guide Sabas told us much about the nearby maasai villages so I can say that it is defintely a great experience.

The national park was very beautiful and it was a great moment when we arrived from Moshi and spotted the lake for the very first time. It was our starting point for a 7 days trip. We stayed at Manyara Heritage Lodge which offered wonderful views over the lake itself. We also went for the treetop walk which takes you on a small path through the crowns of the forest. We saw a lot of elephants and flamingos on both days of our stay. We traveled with Tanzania Horizon Safaris and everything was carried out as planned.

Driving through Lake Manyara in a Jeep was a revelation, offering not only thrilling exploration but also unparalleled vistas. With every turn, the rugged terrain unfolded, revealing stunning panoramas of the surrounding wilderness. The Jeep's sturdy build and agile handling navigated the diverse landscape effortlessly, allowing us to immerse ourselves fully in the natural beauty of the park. From the lush forests teeming with wildlife to the shimmering waters of the lake, each view was a masterpiece. It was a journey where the thrill of adventure seamlessly intertwined with the tranquility of nature, creating memories to last a lifetime

A lot of changes in three years. Lake level rises, swamps gain ground, tracks disappear.
Elephants, many, impalas, qq zebras and qq lions.
The landscapes remain beautiful.
Many, many cars and drivers who are willing to do anything to make themselves known to their customers hoping for a good tip....!

My wife and I loved it and enjoyed the views, it was a nice change after the relatively dry areas around Lake Natron and Tarangire. Manyara was super green and the rivers and forests nearby created a jungle-like atmosphere. We stayed at Tortilis camp which offered an excellent service. Our guide Kazi from Tanzania Horizon Safaris made sure that we arrived well and we spotted some huge flock of flamingos on the way to the camp

Our safari at Lake Manyara with Tanzania Horizon Safaris was unforgettable! Our group of 5 friends had a fantastic time exploring the park's incredible wildlife and breathtaking scenery. We spotted elephants, hippos, and even tree-climbing lions. The overnight stay at Manyara Heritage Lodge was perfect, offering comfortable accommodations and stunning views. The staff were friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. I so much loved the swimming pool, overlooking the lake! Highly recommend this adventure for anyone visiting Tanzania!

We were very impressed when we arrived at the lake and the beautiful views! The safari experience was good as we saw many flamingos, elephants and even a lion near the water! If I compare with the other national parks after that, there was not as much wildlife but still a very beautiful area. My husband rented some binoculars from the safari company that arranged everything with us so we were able to see the animals even from faraway. As it was our very first time on safari, it was absolutely worth it.

hello - were you able to see tree climbing lions? We visitted in 2000 and we count 24 lions on one tree. We want to make that trip again, but many are not recommending Lake Manyara.

Lake Manyara is a wonderful place even if it is not easy to spot lions :-)

What birds occupy the treetops at Mto wa Mbu near the Lake Manyara National Park gate depends on the particular season. When I was there in late June 2017, the trees were filled with marabou storks. This year, when I visited in late May, yellow-billed storks were nesting there. The best way to identify the birds in the trees is from a photo you have taken compared with a photo in a bird book.

Are there any rest stops or toilet facilities inside Lake Manyara National Park that we can use whilst on our game drive?
Written 12 September 2019
Yes. There’s a great boardwalk with both tables and clean loos in the car park. The boardwalk is called Maji Moto. Well worth a stroll along.

Hello. Can I come to the park on my car, without a safari tour and guide? What price?
Written 20 February 2019
Hello! Did you get any answer for this? I have exactly the same questions so if at the end you could go I would appreciate to know the answer. Thanks a million!

Hi, My friends want to go there. I would like to know the condition for this month especially considering the rains in April. Is it safe to go there?
Regards.

Don't worry too much about the weather as long as you have a good guide

We are starting a safari here in the middle of August. What are we likely to be able to see in the park? I had read that the lake shore road for access to see flamingos, hippos, etc. has been closed so you can't see much near the lake. Is this true?
Written 25 June 2017
I really can't say When we went it was January. So whether or not the road is open now I do not know. The Lake is worth the visit. And you will see lots of animals. Have fun !
