Great Place for a Jungle Vibe
Lake Manyara National Park is a great place to stop along the way while driving from Tarangire National Park to the Serengeti. There is more of a jungle feeling here than at Tarangire or Serengeti. I saw a lot of monkeys, such as Blue Monkeys, Baboons and Vervet Monkeys. They are entertaining to watch. The lake had Flamingos and Hippos, although a bit too far out for good photos. The scenery was gorgeous, and we stopped at a nice picnic area with stunning views.

They making our trip to Tanzania better that we could have imagined.
We had a wonderful 3 day Safari experience with Halisi African adventures. The communication via WhatsApp and overall organization was perfect. After arrival in Arusha Matt brought us to the Mvuli Hotel. From here we started next morning to Tarangire National Park with hundreds of animals. The Ngorongoro Crater was even more amazing due to the fantastic landscape. The final day we spend at Lake Manyara National Park. A special thanks to our guide Jackson, who not only has been very knowledgeable about everything we have been interested in but also is a very friendly and open minded person showing.

    Lake Manyaras Sunset remain unforgettable!
Our six-day safari with Tanzania Horizon Safaris, specifically our time at Lake Manyara National Park, was an absolute delight. Lake Manyara unfolded before us and Tanzania Horizon ensured every moment was exceptional. The park's picturesque scenery, combined with the wonderful birdlife, provided a real backdrop to our adventure. Our guide, Sabas, was a true expert, skillfully navigating us through the park while sharing fascinating insights into the unique ecosystem. From the famed tree-climbing lions to the kaleidoscope of bird species, Lake Manyara National Park came alive with Tanzania Horizon Safaris. The attention to detail, both in the safari experience and the beautiful accommodations, showcased the company's commitment to excellence and we always felt well taken Care of. For an enchanting journey into the heart of Lake Manyara's wonders I really recommend taking enoigh time. Minimum 2 days will be perfekt. Thanks to Tanzania Horizon Safaris for all your help

    A nice change of pace
This was a nice change of pace from the other, drier parks that we visited during our safari. We took a canoe ride on the lake. While we did see hippos from the boat, they were not very close. It was just something different to do, and a different view of the area. Yes, we saw elephants, zebras and many of the other animals we saw in other parks, but what was different was the number of baboons, which we did not see elsewhere. Watching them groom and interact was very interesting.

Please don't drive straight by on your way to the other more famous areas
Well worth a stop on the way to the more famous areas as although the lake flooded a few years back leaving it a little alkaline and with no flamingoes there is still plenty of wildlife to see. We took a canoe out and came across a group of Hippos as well as a number of different birds ranging from Swallows to African Fish Eagle, the canoe team were amazing. We stayed at Manyara Green Camp which is well worth checking out

There are some elephants. There are lots of monkeys. There are birds. The park itself is dying as the lake grows and kills the trees.

The other part of the park seems overgrown. You really only see animals that are within 6ft of the road. If you have been on other safaris, I would recommend skipping it.

The lake itself it very large and very brown.

The night safari is a waste as well.

The national park is famous for the tree climbing lions but also pure African safari experience. It‘s not crowded and we saw 2 groups of lions with 30 minutes, unbelievable!

We started our safari here and had a great first day and introduction by our guide as we spotted a large group of 12 elephants right on arrival. The Jeep got stuck due to the rain but our guide Sabas from Tanzania Horizon Safaris managed to navigate us safely out of the situation. We camped at Nearby Manyara Heritage Lodge which offered spectacular from the pool deck. We simply ignored the rain and jumped right in after a long safari..Rooms were nice and food was super tasty. Cheers to Dorothee and Adrian that we met on our journey

In October 2023, our family, with two happy kids, went on an amazing trip to Lake Manyara National Park in Tanzania. We were so excited to see cool animals and have a great time. We chose to stay at Manyara Serena Lodge, a comfy place surrounded by nature, and Patrick was our awesome guide.

During our safaris, we saw elephants, giraffes, and playful monkeys. The kids were thrilled to learn about these awesome animals and where they live. Manyara Serena Lodge felt like a home away from home. The food was yummy, and the nights were cozy under the starry sky. The people there were super nice, making us feel really special.

Each day brought new adventures and fun. We shared stories around the campfire and made memories that we'll always remember. Our trip in October was extra special with the beautiful weather and all the incredible things we saw. We left feeling thankful for the fantastic experiences and the kindness of Manyara Serena Lodge and Tanzania Horizon Safaris. It was the best family trip ever!

Saw elephants, giraffe and Impala galore. Very distinct landscapes and a huge variety of birds. Very lush because of the rains and everything seemed to be close to the road.
