I have read both the great reviews and some of the helpful 'warnings'. Add this to the warning pile. This is a challenging hike, so unless you have a fair amount of experience in the alpine, please read lots of reviews. Let's start at the...More

Must do 2-3 day hike up the beautiful mountain of Toubkal - highest mountain in the Arab World and Highest in North Africa. Rather windy though so make sure you wear a good wind breaker.

The mountain is a great climb. I loved it. I highly recommend it. I have been to Imlil several times, this time around the people have changed a lot. They live for tips and they overcharge as badly as the people of Marrakesh. I was...More

Preliminary Note: I was lucky enough to find a fellow Couchsurfer from Morocco to do this hike with, and it was his 4th time doing it. and it definitely added to the experience. But, I felt that I should write this review for those who...More

Toubkal is an awesome Summit, an easy climb although there are some slippery patches. The key thing to remember is that although the hike from Imli is likely to be warm, the hike to the summit from the Refuge was a different story. After the...More

Did it in two days without guide. Fairly easy to follow the route. Stayed one night in the Refuge du Toubkal and conquered the summit on the second day with a long way down thereafter back to Imlil.

Tracking through the days across a nice babbling brook then as the day goes on a stop between 12 and 2 is a must for lunch and a rest as the 45c heat can be very taxing even for experienced climbers. Spend the night and...More

This was part of our tour of Morocco with our tour group. We hiked from a B&B in Aroumd up the mountain to the Muslim Shrine. Nice rocky path that you share with locals, tourists and donkeys carrying goods up and down the mountain. Near...More

I'm an experience climber (20+ expeditions to 6000m+ peaks) Toubkal was my daughter's first summit experience. This is the perfect trip to see how you cope with expedition life and the altitude. Daughter did fine over the 9 day trip. Summited Toubkal at 7am 19th...More

As a experienced solo trekker this a good fun peak to knock off over a short trip in Morocco. Once above Imlil the path is obvious with small stalls along the way for refreshments. Accommodation at the huts shouldn't need to be booked in advance...More

Hello Micha'el, It will surely be a lot of snow. I have been in April and from the shelter (3200m) up to the peak had been a lot of it. I also think it will be a bit chilly in the shelter as well. Take waterproof equipment... More
