It was a fun experience and brought back great memories of the show.
When we drove into the town of Ticonderoga via Highway 22, we saw a sign that said “Star Trek Experience”. I was thinking that it might be a Trekee’s gift shop. We had lunch at a diner and then we noticed the building across the street. So we decided “to go where millions have gone before,” and it turned out to be the biggest surprise on our trip. We entered the Star Trek exhibit and joined a tour group that had just begun. Inside the converted old grocery store warehouse, is the only exact copy of the interior of the show’s starship Enterprise, outside of the original studio. The guide, a young man who knew everything about the many seasons of the show’s run, shared the story behind a certain prop, room, or hallway, about various camera angles used on the show, how things were made and then changed for different shows. There were many rooms that had been recreated: hallways with their iconic curves for a round ship, the transporter room, sick bay with several rooms, the conference room, Kirk’s and Spock’s quarters, engineering, and the bridge. Every room was expertly put together with painstaking authenticity. In the conference room, the fake harp at the end of the table that Spock played on some shows, was signed by all the big stars that had come to visit "the experience". Visitors were able to take turns sitting in the captain’s chair on the bridge, and we could see that many of the screens around the room had actual pictures of deep space from NASA. In the gift shop, a giant model of the Enterprise hung from the ceiling, and along one side was a long display with costumes worn by many on the show over the years. We were impressed by all the work that the set creators had gone through, and we learned many interesting things about behind the scenes of the show. How the same curved hallway is used over and over for different parts of the ship, the set just had its art and intercoms moved. How the stairs went to nowhere, how Captain Kirk’s sleeping quarters was back to back with Spock’s room. Apparently, millions of fans from around the world have already come to see and experience the rooms of Star Trek. Even William Shatner, who turned 91 in May of 2022, still comes twice a year for special appearances, and still enjoys hitting the com button. It was a fun experience and brought back great memories of the show.

A Tour Every Star Trek Fan Should Take.
Every Star Trek fan should visit the set tour. The sets are incredible, the staff was very knowledgeable and informative. I grew up on Star Trek and having an opportunity to tour the sets was simply incredible. Our tour guide took his time, explained each room and the artifacts.in them. He was able to provide details on each item in the rooms, the episodes of interest and the history. DON'T MISS OUT!!

A must-see experience for any Star Trek fan
Wow. Where do I start? This was the second time I visited the 'Star Trek Original Series Set Tour.' It should mean plenty that I drove about 17 hours each way (I'm a nervous flyer) to return. The experience is extraordinary. Owner James Cawley is constantly upgrading and improving the tour. As a first-generation Classic Star Trek fan, and one who appreciates the behind-the-scene aspects of the series, I thoroughly enjoyed both the sets themselves, as well as the unparalleled prop display in the outer lobby. Cawley is tireless in his pursuit of authenticity and of his acquisition of recreated props, as well as vintage ones from the period, used by the set dressers and prop people. I cannot say enough great things about my experience at the tour. The staff, in particular Marybeth, were all friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning again.

A must see if you are or are not a Star Trek Fan!
This was really not my cup of tea but my boyfriend had to see it! It was fun and I do remember the original series. The sets were fantastic and gave you that authentic feel. Our guide and photographer were great! My favorite rooms were the transport room and the Captain's Bridge. It was truly an experience even if you are not a fan. Just seeing the pleasure it brings to others is good enough for me!

Celebrating Donna's birthday at the Star Trek Experience in Ticonderoga, New York.
Donna's birthday day present from me. I paid extra for our very own tour of the set. Our guide knows everything about the show. And, he is a professional photographer. Our guide was terrific. We had an enjoyable time there. There is also a gift shop and items from the TV series on display. If you love Star Trek like we do, you must come up here to Ticonderoga. New York.

    Cool experience
We found the sets to be entertaining and re-created just like we expected. Our guide Ashley was personable and knowledgeable. We were able to take many great pictures as the group size was limited to only 10 people. What a thrill sitting in Captain Kirk’s chair. The tour lasted about 75 minutes and was worth every Penny.

It is something of an out of the way location but if you are in the area and are a Trekkie it is very well worth the visit. The owners have reconstructed the original set with millimetre accuracy. It really does feel like walking around the starship Enterprise. Our guide was first rate. She was able to provide a huge amount of information and answered questions confidently. Considering that she was guiding four very serious Trekkies that is impressive. They have frequent celebrity visits. If you can time a visit to coincide with one of those it would be great.

    Great fun for all
We had a lot of fun on this tour! I was familiar with the original Star Trek show but wouldn't call myself a fan. My husband on the other hand is a devoted Trekie! I enjoyed seeing him smile, giggle and reminisce as we moved to each new set. It was like he was traveling back in time! The tour guides were also loaded with series insider facts and stories that we all enjoyed hearing. If you're a Trekie fan, this is a must see. I've no doubt you will have a great experience because the sets are impeccable.

This was quite possibly the coolest unplanned side trip ever! Didn't even know it existed until checking Atlasobscura.com. Our tour guide was amazing and added so much to the experience. I can't recommend this enough!

What a surprise for us Trekkies!
We had no idea this exists and just stumbled across it! We sure are glad! As long time Star Trek fans we HAD to do it once we saw it. The person doing the tour was very knowledgeable not only of the set and the series but of behind the scenes stories and the actors, as well. It was so cool to experience the sets in person and grab pictures. We loved it and would highly recommend!

If you ever watched the original Star Trek, you need to stop here and visit. I felt like a kid again and at the age of 59, that’s not easy to do. Our tour guide was awesome and knew a lot about the sets and how they were used. It is a must stop for all Star Trek lovers

I'm a longtime STAR TREK fan since the 1960's. To see these sets reconstructed in such detail was amazing! A long time dream come true. Thank You!

It's out of the way but so so worth the visit. Even if you are not a trekie, the tour is super interesting as it reveals how studio television was made in the 60's. The sets, props, the enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide - best experience. We were in a group of 6 so could ask lots of questions. The location, Ticonderoga, is a charming little town, not flash but friendly accommodation and lots of food options.
