This art museum did not seem to have much in it, however what they did have was very good. It is also located in an area downtown that one can walk to

You will see some things that are pushing the envelop as far as art. Frankly, most of the things I see there are not my cup of tea but if you want to keep an open mind about art, it will be enjoyable.

I'm a Syracuse native. I hadn't been to the Everson since 1989. I recently went with my parents and brother. The admission fee of $0 was the right price. This place is embarrassingly bad. Sure, it has one of the most extensive ceramics collections in the US, but the collection is housed in display cabinet I'd expect to see junior... More

I consider the Everson somewhat of a hidden gem in Syracuse. Sure, locals pass by it all the time but many never stop in or attend events, and they're REALLY missing out. The Everson has an extensive archive, puts on fantastic traveling art exhibits as well as seasonal events; my personal favorite being the Festival of Trees at holiday time.... More

I'm not a big art museum buff, but I am always impressed with the showings they have at this museum. I have come to appreciate modern art by going to this museum.

We visited on an evening when admission was free. They offered a guided tour but we eneded up going off on our own to experience the art in our own way. The collecton of pottery was amazing.

A nice museum, reasonably priced, but not alot of high end exhibits. If you really want art go to NY City.

Designed by famous architect IM Pei, the building presents many interesting visual points inside and out, though its clearly late 60s concrete style likely puts off many/most. So if you are interested in architecture, even if you do not care for brutalist-type style in the 60sand 70s, you can appreciate the building. The art and exhibits were fine - nothing... More

Was here for the opening in 1968 and again on Saturday for the arts festival. Building doesn't show signs of its age and is a very good Museum for children as well as adults. I missed seeing the giant chrome plated 4 posted oscar statues that used to be in the lobby but thoroughly enjoyed the early 20th century pottery... More

I went to the museum to see Alfred Bierstadt's Nevada Falls. It was on display so that was the highlight. Lowlights included many rooms closed for renovation and outside spaces with an empty reflection pool and weeds growing from cracks in the concrete. I think the museum has fallen on hard times and would not recommend it unless there was... More
