this is a cute little park that could have been a nice experience for our family if not for an incredibly nasty staff member that hovered over us and our every move. When my daughter dropped a waterbottle without my noticing (I certainly would have picked it up right away had I noticed) she screamed at my daughter and threatened... More

So this battlefield like many of the other sites nearby played a part in the Revolution. The small battlefield which is just a short walk is the sight of Mad Anthony Wayne's battle against the British to retake this fort. There is a small visitor's center with some exhibits and then you walk around the battlefield. You can also visit... More

It's good to spend one hour or less there to enjoy nature that is if and when is ever open.seems to me that it's always a closing sign at the entrance especially on weekend.

History has a way of sometimes glorifying certain aspects (Battle of Yorktown, Valley Forge), which are very important factors in the battle of Independence, but somehow other areas without “trendy or fashionable”names are overlooked (Setauket, Battle of Long Island or Stoney Point). We visited Stoney Point on July 16, which was the 237th anniversary of the Continental Army retaking this... More

Very interesting park. Parking at the bottom of the hill had a shuttle for those who can't make the hike. Nice and easy walks to the lighthouse.

There is a parking lot, but it is at the bottom of an uphill climb. There are numerous boards with historical information about the British Army located here during the revolutionary war. There was a reenactment on the grounds when we arrived, so we could smell wood fire burning and there were mock soldiers set up in tents. There is... More

This was such an interesting historic attraction! The curator of the museum is a wealth of information. If you visit in the summer on Saturday or Sunday they do a musket and canon demonstration at 3pm. This gave me a very different perspective on our nation's history and the sacrifice these early American's made to give us our freedom. It... More

This is a pretty park with a Historic Lighthouse. Nice views of the Hudson RIver and a great place for taking photos. You also get to walk around the park. Also has a museum.

When we arrived, I thought where is everybody? It was a lovely walk to the lighthouse on a hot day. You can see the Hudson river, with nice views. They have a little museum that has some games for the kids, and you can see the lens of the lighthouse. You can also purchase post cards, and make a donation.

So much history combined with beautiful views of the Hudson River make this a must visit in the North Rockland area.
