My husband and I took 2 of our grandchildren to this Science museum in Schenectady during their spring vacation. They are ages 4 and 6. We all had a great time. We spent about 3 hours at the museum, which included a 30 minute show in the planetarium. Our grandchildren really enjoyed themselves, especially our 6 year old granddaughter. The... More

I can agree that most exhibits in this museum are scientifically sound and very interesting, both the interactive and the historic ones, but for certain these were set up at least a decade ago and have not been maintained since then. This museum is severely dilapidated, in urgent need of good management and investment. Many of the interactive areas were... More

The old Schenectady Museum is not the museum it was in the past. There are remnants of it pushed up against the outside walls. The planetarium is still there. The new format is now a "classroom". It appears to be a place for science class field trips. NOTE: our last visit here was in 2012.

This small museum is worth a trip if you have nothing else to do. While I enjoyed some of the exhibits I was disappointed when I chose to show my grand kids this local favorite. Given all the history in the city that "...Lights and Hauls the World" I was surprised the museum didn't have more exhibits that focused on... More

Always something new as well as the old! We love the bubbles, trains and planetarium. Took a two year old, a seven year old and two 11 year olds ... all had fun!

A favorite place for my toddler. She gets lost in the grocery shop area, where she can ring up her grocery items and play pretend at the sink. It's a great science/learning space for both of my little ones, as they love to explore the museum's changing exhibits. The Butterfly Exhibit is super exciting for any ages, as you see... More

Took my 6 and 1.5 year old here during the science festival week. Had a lot of fun exploring all the tings to do there. They also had a tent outside with different shows and extra exhibits set up inside. Both had a lot of fun. Would recommend best ages is probably 3-10 but my little one liked the bubbles,... More

I go here once every other month. It is so much fun. There are lost of hands-on activities, a small planetarium show which is always fun. And they also have an area of the history of Schenectady. It is really great.
