If you are use to the grandeur and beauty of gardens like Longwood Gardens in PA or the NY Botanic Garden this place will be a bore. The extraordinary thing about this place are the conspicuous signs stating that you are not to cross a particular line, "Private Property." Kudos thou to the administrator of the place for sharing a... More

What to say about this. The grounds are beautiful. Sadly the roses were not yet in bloom during my visit, but I can imagine they are spectacular. I can say that all the "Do Not Enter" signs are a little intimidating and you get the feeling you are being watched from the "Big House"

Yaddoo- the pull in is accessible it's right off the exit for the Northway (I-87) exit 14 towards Saratoga. You pull in the fenced garden and just roll the windows down and go slow, it's patrolled and video surveillanced. When you get to the end, follow public parking signs and park n lock up. Walk through the tree lining to... More

The Yaddo Gardens combine beautiful flowers, statuary, fountains and an interesting history. They are a peaceful haven. Flowers are blooming throughout the season.

Yaddo gardens is a hidden gem in Saratoga. There are traditional English-style Rose gardens (make sure you go when they are in bloom) and a Japanese-style rock garden. Lovely all around. Great for a romantic afternoon. Also great for photography.

During the spring and summer, the Yaddo provides an excellent place for family, senior, or solo portraits. From the Bridges, the stream, the forest, the fountains, or the rose garden, there's ample amount of places to provide you with an incredible backdrop.

I suggest reading up on the history of the gardens to help you appreciate them that much more. It's free and you're able to walk around and enjoy the peaceful garden and fountains. It's a great place for a picnic too as there's a big area of grass right before the garden.

Lovely gardens, grounds and home. We had a nice picnic on the grounds and visited all fantastic statues. The flowers are beautiful and the home is spectacular! Take the time to visit Yaddo and imagine the artists and authors who have shared their talents starting in those beautiful surroundings.

I have been to these gardens on many occasions. I recently went in the late Fall as I needed a quiet place to think. I certainly understand why this houses writers! No matter where you go, if you stay in your car or not---there is always some view to allow you to decompress. Its super quiet and all of the... More
