I visited this free and lovely trail with my parents in-law, wife and son on a clear winter's day. The trail, while almost overly-paved at the beginning, quickly deteriorated, so be sure to take appropriate foodwear, and beware of slipping on the muddy trail. The...More

Great stroll 2.5 miles with amazing views of the Hudson. We happened to go on a day that was very muddy so I would recommend hiking boots and avoid wearing white shoe wear.

Yet another Hudson Valley, Dutchess County, Red Hook offering that answers the question, "why do I/should I live here?" Comfortable/sturdy shoes a must. Bring snacks, bevs, something to sit/rest on and of course, a camera to make it a totally enjoyable trek. Take in the...More

Amazing views of the Hudson along with a tranquil wooded portion...Wear good walking shoes/hiking boots. Large portion is graveled walking path. However, the majority is grass trails/wooded trails that can be slightly wet at times. Worth exploring and enjoying as much as possible!

Poets Walk is lovely but watch your footing. We were walking the trail by the river when wet leaves, mud and my foot getting caught under a tree root sent me to a face dive. Hit hard and fast! 6 stitches to my upper lip,...More
