Wide range of offerings in historic, beautifully restored old opera house. Good acoustics, and live Met Opera performances make it ever more dubious to travel to NYC.

A rare gem of a place to go for live music & entertainment. We are fortunate to have this in our area.

Post Modern Jukebox was more delightful than expected. Each member of the group was an outstanding virtuoso. Audience was treated to not only superior vocals but also fun costume changes and even tap dancing. House was sold out and audience members came appropriately dressed up! Such a fun andalented group. The Bardavon never disappoints.

I saw Paula Poundstone here because I checked the calendar six weeks before making a trip to the area, and I got the last ticket. Great venue for small scale acts. Apparently a restored 1920's movie theater (has organ)/vaudeville house. Seats to match, though, and a problem with stale smell the night I was there. Good historic preservation/restoration project, next... More

Always my first choice for concerts. Some of the best concerts I have ever enjoyed have been at The Bardavon, where every seat is a great seat. Sinead O'Connor, Dweezil Zappa, Steve Winwood, Met Opera, Paula Poundstone...something for everyone. They support the community and education - a real gem!

Great place to enjoy an intimate show. The acoustics are terrific and the old fashioned playhouse feel makes you feel comfortable and welcome

We love to go to the historic Bardavon Theater for different events but our favorite time is after the Parade of Lights parade through the City of Poughkeepsie. It's always a special Christmas movie and it brings you back in time. The walls are full of articles about the long history of the venue! You'll be amazed!

A trip back in time to elegant theaters of old. Great acoustics, sight lines, experience. Movie nights, lots of national headliners, prices lower than Manhattan.

The Bardavon is a rare gem in the City of Poughkeepsie,a place to experience culture, entertainment, and occasionally a movie on the Big screen as it was intended to be viewed. This venue has been restored and brought back from the dead and is a definite place to take in a live event.I can remember going to the movies as a kid when... The Bardavon is a wonderful attraction in the City of Poughkeepsie for anyone to go to see a wonderful show, ballet, concert or any other attraction they might have there. We've taken our nieces and nephews there for many different occasions, the Nutcracker Ballet, the Zoo puppet show, but one of the things we enjoy ourselves as well as with... More
