In Poughkeepsie's best designed building, by I. M. Pei, there is found world class art works, unexpected in a small town, including a solid permanent exhibition and changing, carefully curated shows designed not only for their aesthetic but also their educational value. So we can...More

We stopped by after a visit to the CIA. Not exactly our kind of art. Probably would not return. We are used to larger museuma.

Very enjoyable space is very inviting. The works are displayed in open spaces that invite the attention of groups -- this is a teaching museum and is superbly curated, both in terms of breadth of the collection and the individual works shown. Ideally fits the...More

The Loeb Art Center at Vassar is a treasure tucked away in the Vassar campus. It has an array of world class art. Exhibits do change, so it's worth more than one visit. And there is no admission fee!

This museum began as a 19th c. teaching lab for art history students, and still serves that purpose today. The curators maintain both permanent and temporary displays in well-lit, intimate galleries. We have visited here with children for decades. A haven!

We are blessed to have an art gallery of this caliber in the Mid-Hudson Valley. Despite its relatively small size, the gallery and exhibits are world class.

This is a really good art collection with some actual real treats at Vassar College. I was glad I took my time to make this outing happen. Modern art, ancient art, Miro, Hudson River Painters, I can't even begin to say all the names of...More

Go and it will not disappoint. A wonderful sculpture garden (even the trees on the property are worth touring for their sculpture) and a great cross section of fine art: Miro, Picasso, Lichtenstein. Go to Rossi's deli first (trust me) grab some bites and have...More

Located on the Vassar College campus, the museum permanent collection has some real treats, Picasso, Rembrandt, well, I can't list them all. Also a good representation of the Hudson River School.
