The Jacob Burns Film Center is a five screen community supported art house cinema located in Pleasantvile, NY screening the best in American and foreign independent film as well as unique series and special events. Special guests at the JBFC have included filmmakers and actors like Richard Linklater, Jason Reitman, Jon Stewart, Ryan Gosling, Anjelica Huston, and Meryl Streep. Our state-of-the-art Media Arts Lab offers media courses for storytellers of all ages--in animation, screenwriting, and filmmaking!

If you do not like movies with explosions , cars raise ,shootings, killings , etc , this is the place to be !

The JBFC is about a 35-minute drive for us from Connecticut, but we come here all the time to see "small films" that generally don't come to the multiplexes. In addition to regular films, they have film festivals, special film series, occasional Q & A's...More

This is such a lovely movie theatre and very friendly.I love that old fashion feel to it. I plan on going there more often.

The Jacob Burns Center offers many movie types. Very relaxing setting and provides great movies and other services. Works with groups in the community and allows kids unique experiences in film making and editing.

I'm a member and go there regularly. Mostly movies, occasionally a discussion/presentation. Comfortable seats, good acoustics, a real boon to our area.

Been to Jacob Burns before and have found it to be a decent experience with the films. The theaters are comfortable...only issue is that one never knows if the theater for the film is small or a bit larger. Have to arrive early. For Valentines...More
