What a great surprise to find this gem with a view in Plattsburgh. Beautiful large beach, dog park, volleyball courts, picnic area, gazebo, and the CABANA BAR!!! The drinks were afforable and good! The water was roped off so families could swim safely. they view was spectacular at sunset!
there are meters to pay for parking - you can park for free after 6pm.

An awesome little beach on the shores of Lake Champlain. You usually would need to pay for parking, but the day I visited parking was for free and the local Rotary was sponsoring an event. The beach has a sidewalk that runs along the beach for those who may utilize a wheelchair. They're is also a snack bar and a lifeguard on duty.

The water here is cooler than most beaches.

This beach was so cute. It was very quiet and and peaceful. We enjoyed watching people fly their kites and also wind surf. My daughter goes to SUNY Plattsburgh and we enjoyed getting to know the town. I fell in love and knew she would be happy there. Everyone is really nice and scenery is so beautiful everywhere you go.

Wow !! What a beach !! Nothing anywhere in Quebec can match this incredible beach. It looks like it's about 2 km long and about 50 feet to 200 feet wide in some places. The view of the Adirondacks and Vermont's green mountains is unreal. We went in late June and from the beach you could see the snow on top of the mountains. The water is deeper at the west end of the beach. Absolutely no weeds or rocks anywhere, just soft sand. Water is pretty clear and not too cold. You can rent kayaks and paddle boards for like $15 an hour and go anywhere. If your a teen or young adult it's best to go swim and hang out at the far west end. The west end has much more sand and wild trees. The boats tend to park around this area also. Watch out for the life guards! They are a real pain. The will whistle for any reason. Touch the floating rope and they whistle. Try to sit far away from them and you will be better off. It's $7 to get in Canadian or American ( should be free ).

NOTE TO CITY OF PLATTSBURGH : You don't need to waste money on all the life guards. There are always too many. Half of them are just hanging out. There is also staff that ride around all day in the John Deer gator not doing anything. Do they really need 2 people in the pay booth to collect the entrance fee?? Get rid of the swimming zones. Let people swim all over at their own risk ( all you have to do is put up a sign ). Open the beach on the 1st of May and leave it open until the end of October. Oh ya, I went 5 times already this year and there are no garbage cans anywhere past the last wood post going west. This is why everybody just leaves there garbage on the ground. I asked the life guards about the cans and they had no idea. With the money you will save you could rebbuild the original beach house and get rid of the ugly commercial build that's there now. Look at some historical pictures and see how nice the beach and buildings were.

Love the beach. The price is amazing. Water is clean. Sand feels nice. Almost ocean nice. The beach is huge so your not steeping on people. There are places u can picnic , there is even a place on site to buy stuff. You can also leave the beach and come back for the same price.

We always go after Labor Day. The beach is closed but we bring our lunch, we even go in the water and the best part of it is that it is quiet. Hardly no souls in sight. That's our favorite time to go.

While I know there is a dog park located right outside of the beach, I read online that the beach itself is dog friendly. Took my dog further away from where everyone else was and was asked to walk either all the way to the end of the beach or leave. I left. Will not be returning.

Took guests to city beach though we like AuSable. They were thrilled with the waves. Life guards are strict and I like swimming out to deeper water. It's a beautiful beach and very scenic.
