Many people bring their dogs to play near the back fields. There is a creek so we usually go to the dog bath at Pet Supplies Plus afterwards. There are also benches overlooking the creek area and a nice play ground. Its a great alternative to the official dog park where children are not allowed.

During family visits I steal away and fish some of the local creeks during steelhead season. Irondequet Creek some years gets both salmon and steelhead. There are many access points along the many miles of creek. Visited this one in late May, post fish run but will file it away for the future. It appears well maintained and has some truly impressive trees. Will have to get out my Petersons field guide. Well worth exploring.

I love Spring Lake Park! The front part of the park is perfect for families who want to have a picnic, perfect for baseball players, perfect place for fishermen. But the back part of the park is the place I love the most! It is the place for dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes to meet - - and they get to play off-leash! To top it off, Irondequoit Creek runs through the park and provides a nice, clean swimming hole for the pups - - and boy do they love it!! I have made a lot of new friends at Spring Lake Park - - if there is one great thing about dog parents is that we all love to talk with other dog parents. Thank you Perinton, for providing this wonderful place for our pups!

A mile south of 441 on Whitney, just past (south) of the light at Linden avenue, on the east side of the road is Spring Lake Park.
There are several fields for baseball and soccer, a shelter and a very large creek running the full length of this park. An access road provides a nice walking path to the further most playing fields. Pick up after your dog bags are provided. There is a parking area close to Whitney and another at the further most playing fields (circle). There are walking trails that take you along the broad creek bed.

Spring Lake Park is a great community park in Penfield/Perinton. It has two softball fields, picnic tables and grills, and a great play area for kids. Irondequoit Creek also comes through the park, and there are some nice benches and shaded bench swings to sit on and listen to the water burbling through as the kids play.

It's probably not the best place to fly kites, due to the number of trees surrounding much of the area, but it's a great place to come walk your dogs. (Please remember to bring bags to clean up after them!)
