Have hiked here several times. It is not real steep and a good place to hike, snowshoe or cross country ski (seasonal) . go there when the ground is dry, else you will be hiking in mud. Lots of room for parking if you have a crow.

Love this park... one of the many that the Penfield Town has to offer! It's quite flat, so easily walked. Can walk this park in an hour. Beautiful array of wild flowers!!

The map of this park can be found at penfieldrecdotorg There are 82 acres here with extensive walking trail network. There are some gentle slopes here and a bridge over commision ditch. Its easy to spend two hours making a good brisk hike around this property. I seldom run into more than one other person when I use the park to walk my dog.

Being a avid outdoor enthusiasts, we are always looking for new places to hike, bike, snowshoe or cross-country ski. I skied here one time, and then took my wife back to snowshoe. The trails are just the right length - neither too long or short! Both times were quite fun!

Love going here!! My dog and I have recommended this place to others and we all meet and have such a great walk. The benches are so nice and in a good location. Trails marked very well. The dogs love going in the creek. This is one of 3 parks within a 2 miles radius from my house we take turns going to them, how blessed we are to live in Penfield and have the parks, trails and nature so close.

Sherwood Fields is a rather new park, completed in 2011, and a bit different from other local parks in several ways. First, Sherwood Fields' trails, or rather "paths," lead you through a number of very scenic open areas, which are surrounded by trees but not in the areas where you are walking, so it is wide open overhead. Also, the "trails" are wide, and hard-surfaced, being covered by a paved gravel surface that will allow the passage of wheelchairs, although I cold not vouch for the comfort level of that endeavor.
The trails that loop their way through this park offer wide-open views of the fields and woods surrounding the area. While walking, I saw many interesting species of birds, including some really gorgeous goldfinches. I also passed a number of water puddles with literally thousands of pollywogs, if that sort of thing interests you.
One word of caution about this place; when it rains, water tends to cover some of the paths, so you may want to wear something waterproof during wet weather.
This is a very pleasant place to take a middle-of-the-day stroll. I do recommend it.
