What an incredible place to visit! It is a beautiful location. We visited in April and also last summer. The leaves were just coming out on the trees and we actually enjoyed it more during the summer when it was all green, but the crowds were definitely lighter this time.

Joseph Smith is the founding prophet of Mormonism. His home is an interesting place to visit. There were live tours and people in period dress. The whole thing was free. Whether you're a Mormon or not, it's a bit of history that's worth observing, especially as it puts real places together with the early chapters of LDS Church history.

As always, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has done a wonderful job creating a beautiful restoration of these homes and the surrounding area. The missionaries are delightful and so knowledgeable. Their presentations are genuine and spirit filled and perfect for all ages.

Visited with teenagers. Great experience. Missionaries very helpful and knowledgeable. Few visitors in winter made it more meaningful.

I had always wanted to visit the Smith Family farm, ever since I read it was in upstate New York and not in Utah or Nauvoo. I had visited this past summer while traveling through western New York and stopped to see the home. We were greeted by Sister Miller who was so very friendly and welcoming. She gave us... More

You can see a reconstructed 1818 log home and an original 1825 frame home that belonged to the Joseph Smith family. Joseph Smith Jr. lived here and eventually went on to organize The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and translate the Book of Mormon. Learn all about it here and then take a wonderful walk through 10 acres... More

This is a well directed and interesing tour. It's free of charge. There are a lot of details which went into making this tour very much authentic. There is some walking between the sites required. There are actually 2 homes to view and a barn and some other details to look at. One of the houses has an upstairs to... More

The history and Recreation that has taken place tell the great story of the beginnings of the Mormon church as well as how the county and the local city started. The trails and activities are fun for the whole family and extremely peaceful as well as free.

Palmyra is the cradle of the religious movement that brought about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints under the direction of Joseph Smith. Step back into history and immerse yourself in his experience. Excellent personal tours of the restored homes and beautifully maintained walking trails through the adjacent forest. Very peaceful!
