Great idea to walk down the steps for a swim. The water is amazing and you can jump off the rocks. Minimal space to sit but it’s totally worth it. Bring water shoes if you have them!

Amoudi Bay was absolutely awesome. It is a hike down and then to get to the rocks, you must walk around the corner of the rock. I highly recommend. The water is beautiful. We even saw a cool fish swimming by us. My husband also...More

Highly recomend making the effort to get to Amoudi Bay. Its a beautiful little fishing port with some lovely restuarants. Far less touristy then a lot of the Islands.

We walked down the steps from oia during sunset. We had to avoid the donkey poop which was annoying and the steps itself are quite steep. But the view of the sunset while walking down was amazing. We ate at the ammoudi fish restaurant which...More

Having visited at 3pm and 6am, I can safely say, go as early as you can. The walk up and down can get rather smelly due to the donkey poo, but in the morning you'll have the steps to yourself and all the incredible photo...More

I was going to take the stairs down and a taxi back up, however I ended up wanting to save the 10 euros, and took the stairs back up, too. I won’t lie, both ways were a little tough. Going up was harder. But it’s...More

Great place to eat after jumping off the cliff. Once in a lifetime experience. Delicious and fresh food, literally on the water.

Yes, I would. Ask your hotel to reserve a nice table they are more than happy too. They can also reserve a taxi to there and before you leave ask the restaurant manager to call you a taxi back. It’s quite dark after sunset.

We found the whole of Oia to feel extremely safe - including the steps. We were staying above Amoudi Bay and the steps were always well used by lots of people. We walked up and down - there are a lot of steps though - but as... More

Our taxi came 5-10 minutes after they made the call. The ride back up to Oia was really short, at most 5-10 minutes. There isn’t a lot of parking spaces at the bay... so driving may not be such a good idea. Perhaps you could... More
