What a shock to discover that the original chapel (built by the people of Etretat), was destroyed by the Germans occupiers during the War AND it was sold privately so one one can visit inside or worship in this little chapel. Only on odd days...More

The church itself has been converted into a space for artwork etc, when we visited it had a display of large black sticks/seaweed art with no explanation in English although there was audio in French. Be sure to catch the little tourist train up to...More

It's a cute little chapel, built in a modern-ish 20th century style that looks more fitting for Iceland than France. The location is absolutely breathtaking, high on the cliffs above Etretat with a beautiful view of the bay and the cliffs on the other side....More

This small chapel appears to be in good condition. Unfortunately, we went there on May Day (May 1) and it was closed. We would like to return sometime when the chapel is open. The views from nearby the chapel are very good.

I rate this a bit lower than the cliffs, because the church is quite disappointing. It is a very tiny church, with nothing special about the building itself. The location on the other hand, is amazing! You will have amazing views over the town and...More

Going here is bit challenge to the driver as its very vertical road. But worth it when you are at the top. WOW

We were there for an afternoon and wanted to visit both sides of the cliffs. Chose to walk up the south side which was an easy climb and gave a lovely view over to the cliff with the church. We then went back to the...More

Beautiful and calm - the best place to take in the ocean views and views of the cliff, while also being able to collect your thoughts. Truly serene and gorgeous. You can drive to the top - or walk up from the beach (we took...More

You CAN get up on this cliff by car.... but consider taking a little train (see pic). The Chapelle is closed, but a fine inspiration to imagine it in the time the Impressionists sat here to paint the seascape. When we visited, there was a...More
