    Fantastic experience!
Spectacular scenery! We arrived around 9-10am and we were able to find free parking about 10 min away from the centre ville and walked down to the main street. There were not too many tourists and the weather was great. We walked a lot, enjoy pure air... fantastic experience!

    Breathtaking place
I arrived prior to sunrise, and had the whole place to myself not 1 other person insight until I started climbing back down an hour & half later. Breathtaking views from almost every place you look. Yes the climb can be a little steep at time, might be difficult for those with disabilities unless you have a cane. As I came into Lehavre from a cruise ship I was not going to pay $70 for a ride there, so if you like to save money walk about 1/2 hr to train/bus station and spend ONLY 3.60€ round trip for about an hour in each direction, walk about 5-10 minutes to the sea, you can't miss it, or follow the sounds of the seagulls. Definitely recommend if you have a few hours in town, one of the top 10 most beautiful places I've ever visited, and I've been all over the world several times. A little cold this time of year with a steady sea wind, but I'm sure it beats the crowds in the summer, just wear warm clothes and good walking/climbing shoes.

    Eye candy all around
These cliffls and the trails along the coast being the main reason to visit Etretat, do take your time. A lot of people turn around on the hike after they get their first glimpse of the cliffs near the chapel. We went a bit further ahead (approximately to the point of Vue panoramique de L'Aiguille de Belval), and it was blissfully quiet and peaceful, with only a few people we met on the trail. Bring sunscreen as even on a mostly cloudy day the chance of getting sunburnt is *high*. All in all, it was a lovely experience, and very much worth a detour.

this is why everybody comes to Etretat, to walk the 500m left and right along the seaside, looking at the cliffs on both sides of the bay, and eventually climb up on one or the other side. and when I say everybody, I talk about thousands every day. funny to see the signs on the beach that it is forbidden to pick up and take a pebble, but imagening each tourist taking one, the beach would be gone in a week. so after half an hour we saw it and moved on.

We came to Etretat on a cloudy and rainy weekday in late September. Despite the stormy seas, we enjoyed a walk along the broad-walk, then on the beach, the view of the hills on both sides was simply stunning. Due to the slippery conditions, we did not attempt to hike the hills, still ended up with incredible photos anyway. Beautiful place, no wonder Claude Monet painted over 90 paintings here.

We decided to drive out of our way a bit to see the white cliffs of Etretat. In retrospect, I'm not sure I'd recommend to anyone else to do the same, even though seeing the white cliffs was nice. The town was pretty cheesy/commercialized, and I could see it being very difficult to find parking (luckily we arrived around 4pm and were able to find a spot pretty easily). It was an extremely windy/cool day when we were there (June 2), and so maybe that's why it wasn't as amazing as I was hoping - maybe on a beautiful sunny day, it would be more picturesque, but I'm guessing many of the days here are overcast and windy given the location. I don't regret going, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see this place.

Climbing up to the top of Falaise d'Aval takes a good 15-20 mns then it is easier walk once you are up there but careful as it gets very windy. The stairs to d'Amont takes a good 10 mns climb. Parking is expensive with a minimum of 5 hrs to pay. Public toilets available by tourist office. Advise. Best to stop at Fecamp for lunch less crowded there and better service and food it seems than in Etretat which is very touristy. We enjoyed it all though.

We were very impressed by the cliffs at Etretat. It took us a little while to find and pay for parking when we drove into town, but once we were out of the car we enjoyed our chance to explore. There is a boardwalk above the beach with views of the cliffs in both directions. We chose to climb/hike up the western cliffs (Falaise d'Val). The path is uphill but not far and the views from the top, both farther west and back towards Etretat, were amazing. We took plenty of photos and enjoyed the chance to be outside in the fresh air on a beautiful day.

Really beautiful to see and of course therefore understandably very very busy... Even parking a long way out it can still be a challenge to find a space... Especially when the weather is good... Even at 4pm, when I arrived, which I assumed would be quieter.

These places in the world really take your breath away. It was the start of winter, there weren't much people around. Wife and i sat on the bench atop the cliff and soaked in the beautiful view and digesting how beautiful France is.

Must visit if you are in the area, make sure you hike up for the priceless view !

There are two sides of the cliff that you can walk up to. It's nice from both ends, but I recommend the side with the little church because the view of the opposite is nicer from that view. When facing the ocean go up the right side stairs.

When you climb up to the climb just enjoy the views. The trail is easy once you get to the top.
