    A beautiful experience
The butterfly centre was a beautiful experience. After arrival, the guide offered a detail explanation about the life of butterflies and how the centre works. After that, we entered the garden, which is a piece of forest with a nice fountain covered with a net, so the butterflies can wonder around without escaping. We had the chance to see the cocoons and it was wonderful to just be there and enjoy how they fly around and even, if you stay still and silent, they come and lay on you. You can remain in the garden as long as you want. And the best part of it is that the admission fees directly support the community, training butterfly farmers and improving the region.

Lovely stop before you go home
Lovely centre with beautiful butterflies and even better four chameleons who charitably let you hold them! It’s very small so you don’t need much time here - 30 mins max. You will be taken round by a very cheerful and friendly guide. Recommend doing what we did and combining with a tour at Jozani Spice Farm and a tour of the Jozani Forest national park. We organised this ourselves for a much cheaper price (just by arriving at the place and asking for a tour) than the operators will charge you! It was great to come here on the way back to the airport before an evening flight.

    Well worth a visit
What a lovely place to learn about butterflies, chameleon conservation and Bush Baby conservation. We had a lovely guide walk thru all that is done here. Well worth a side trip if you are in the area. There are a couple friendly tortoises to visit too.

Great little place with lots of beautiful butterflies and five small chameleons. Guide explains in great detail about the butterfly development and how the villager’s are farming butterflies that then are sold to the butterfly center. Great local support 👍
Entrance fee of 15000 shillings per person are used directly to buy cocoons from the villagers.
Nice experience when you want something other than beach.

We were so glad we were able to add in this tour. Omar provided a very informative explanation of the butterfly life cycle with live demonstrations of caterpillars who raced to climb off the table.

The Centre provides a living for local villagers who breed the butterflies at home. Omar expertly answered our questions and showed us around the large, beautiful butterfly house.

An added bonus was seeing and holding a chameleon, kept in a separate enclosure because they will eat butterflies!

Very nice place! The guide took a lot of time for us and put a lot of effort into the tour. The animals are treated lovingly and kept in a species-appropriate manner. Was very exciting - highly recommended! Asanteni!

We stopped here on the way home from visiting caves. A beautiful little place that teaches you the life cycle of a butterfly. No butterflies landed on me tho.
