Replica of the famous tower in Lisbon right next to the fish market. Inside there is a maritime museum with some finds that were recovered from ships that sank off the islands. English descriptions only on the first two floors. There is a beautiful view from the roof. Entrance fee 3€ or 300 escudos.

Mindelo's Museum of the Sea is a gem -- located in the repurposed Torre de Mindelo national monument (which was modeled after Lisbon's Torre de Belem), the museum chronicles northern Cape Verde's rich maritime history.

Featured exhibits include such themes as whaling, warships, migration, bio-diversity, aquatic archeology and even music!

The museum also offers for sale books, mostly in Portuguese, about Cape Verde.

A museum of the sea; with many old pictures of how the port looked , when it was an important coaling station for shipping. The history of the visiting whaling ships needing local people to work upon them.
Don't miss the fine views of the harbour and town, from the top of the building.

Just a copy of the Belem Tour of Lisboa, nothing special here. It is close to the sea and the city center.

Prominent building on the waterfront you can't miss Torre de Belem. For a small island I thought this museum was very interesting. Focussing on whaling I found it informative and well presented. There's a small entrance fee and from the top floor there are lovely views of the town.

No access was possible on the day that we visited. "Copy" of the Belem Tower in Lisbon to link to Portuguese heritage. Just a sight on a walk through the town centre to more interesting locations.

An interesting maritime museum located in the Torre de Belem. Modelled on the one with the same name in Lisbon. Good views from the top. Only 200$. Allow 20/30 minutes to visit.
