its a very nice place to visit lovely beach, lovely pier where the fish come in and you can watch the men bring the fish in and the women fillet them.

The Bach and pier are a must visit. The beach is lovely and the fisherman on the pier wow! Fresh fish are thrown on the pier and gutted right in front of you, not for the squeamish!!

A wonderful clean beach with crystal clear water! You can often see locals catching the fish and prepping them on the pier. Definitely visit

Say what you want, but this is MY Paradise! You have 9 km with amazing white sand beach and Cristal clear water! But don't get fooled by the water, it has some strong currency and big waves!!

Yes very safe. take euros as rate not so good over there and all shops and bars take euro. I found eating out little expensive because everything is imported. it is a beautiful place and extremely hot. take sun cream as very... More

Hi, looking into Cape Verde for 2 weeks in August, we have a 12 yr old daughter that loves the sea, can anyone tell me if it's safe to snorkel as I'm seeing a lot of posts saying the beaches are red flagged. Many thanks

There is a specific bay for snorkelling at the island of Sal which I wish we'd of had a longer stop at. Also snorkelling off the pier at Santa Maria would be fine but the sea itself was at times very rough. The resort (Sol... More

hi. I'm not really sure about the weather in April. yes there are lots of 4 and 5 star hotels there. the big resorts are not that close to Santa Maria, about 3 or €4 euro In a taxi. Riu Palace was one I heard of. hope... More
