The stilt village was not really what I expected. Interesting although its a bit run down. Felt a bit unwelcome as the people living there were not very friendly and it’s clear that people do not like to be photographed, although that’s understandable. Not as...More

This stilt village is definitely worth a visit. It's fascinating to see how everything is navigated on the water and is far more authentic than other stilt villages that I've visited. The fishing areas were also interesting, as we learned that they are owned and...More

The great thing about travel is that you see such different ways of life. This is an interesting lifestyle and yes, in answer, to the Singaporan this is a giant sewer. It's how some people live and far more interesting than the over clean Singapore....More

If you're in Cotonou, you have got to go to Ganvie, I suppose. It IS interesting to see, although most of the residents don't seem particularly keen to see you.

Most likely the most touristy place in whole Benin, but definitly worth a visit. I went twice. Find a good local guide. 2 to 4 hour tour is enough. It's really nice to see how a whole community lives on water. Quiet unique. Be respectful...More
