About
Goat Island sits in the middle of Niagara Falls, offering many walking trails and viewing points of the surrounding landscapes. Here, you can get a great view of Horseshoe Falls and American Falls from Terrapin Point and Luna Island, explore Cave of the Winds at the bottom of Bridal Veil Falls, and cross over a historic walking bridge to the Three Sisters Islands.
The Niagara Scenic Trolley is an easy and scenic way to traverse the island—though walking around the island takes just 30 minutes—there are also tours available that combine it with the Maid of the Mist boat ride to the base of Horseshoe Falls. – Tripadvisor

- Michael ShieldsLouisville, Kentucky28 contributionsPart of a Combined Day Tour.Amazing to see the Falls from so many vantage points (see Niagara Falls and Cave of the Winds). Absolutely worth seeing from as many points as possible. To see the full breadth of the Falls, I recommend the Maid of the Mist and or going into Canada, but even if not, they are spectacular.Visited July 2023Written 19 July 2023
- Selena S11 contributionsLots of WalkingWow! No words can discribe the falls when you see them for the first time! Lots of walking if you want to see everything. We were there on a Saturday and it was very busy. I would have given it an excellent rating but the signage wasn't great. There are bathroom's and food here. There is a charge for parking so you might as well spend a lot of time here.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 27 August 2023

I understand why is is one of the 7th wonders of the world. Terrapin Point was beautiful at sunset and so worth it. Nice hiking trails. A cute gift shop closes early.

Goat island is in the middle of the river and it is connected to the falls. You can observe the falls from the top and also from the bottom via various tours. The other part of the island is beautiful and great for stroll.

Our tour guide explained why the owner with his goats came to the island in order to protect them. Incredible story!

We visited Niagara Falls June 15-June 18, 2023, on our visit to Upstate New York. We stayed at the Sheraton within walking distance of the falls and other sights. The highlight of our visit was the Grayline Niagara tour with Shelly (Showtime with Shelly). Traffic was heavy and parking nonexistent but Shelly was a real pro and expertly escorted us to all the best sights, including a few not usually visited. Major kudos to Shelly for her vast knowledge of the history of this amazing area. Our tour was wonderful and fun for all ages. She made sure that my husband who uses a cane was able to enjoy all the destinations. We really appreciated her upbeat and kind demeanor and are looking to our next visit to Niagara Falls and tour with Shelly. Evalyn Henry

How far a walk from observation towel to goat island?
Donna C

The observation tower is about a 10-minute walk from Goat Island. There are continuous sidewalks from one to the other. The park encompasses a lot of area. While you're there you ought to go out to Three Sisters Island, too, for a view of the river rapids.

Is there any entry fee ? Can you view Evenings lighting from here?

Unless you are staying within walking distance, there is a parking fee of around $10/day. As far as the evening lighting, you can probably see the one side pretty good from Horseshoe Falls. I always stay the Canadian side where the view is breathtaking.
How do I get on goat island
Kimberly W
Norwich, CT66 contributions
Hello. You can walk onto the island via the Rainbow Bridge or take the trolley bus over. I highly recommend the trolley. Best $4 you will spend while you are there and it will take you the length of Niagara (from the aquarium all the way over to three sister island) and you can get off and on at any stop you choose with the wrist band they give you.
