If you have a car and take up the trip from NYC to go shopping spend a couple of hours at this huge sculpture park. Great place to walk especially in the fall. They have trolleys but not enough so avoid weekends and holidays. A bit overpriced to get in.

Beautiful sculpture park, very spread out, so lots of walking. Easy to get lost, but can be fun. The sculptures were very large and interesting. I think it is a great one day trip on a beautiful fall day.

I was blown away at the scale of the art pieces and the huge size of the park. We barely saw a quarter of it. The setting is amazing among beautiful rolling hills with views of the surrounding mountains. It's a little over an hour from NYC. You can take the train, bus, or drive. Check their website for options.... More

I have made an annual visit to this sculpture park for the past 4 years. There are permanent and temporary exhibits so there is always something new to see. Many well-known artists are represented here such as Alexander Calder, Richard Serra, Maya Lin, Henry Moore, Isamu Noguchi, Sol LeWitt. If you go in the autumn, you get the added pleasure... More

Storm King Art Center is home to over 100 installations on 500 acres. The center is well organized and it took us 3 leisurely hours to walk through the center. There is a tram tour and also bikes to rent if you don't want to walk. I recommend walking if you like to take photos. The collection is weighted towards... More

Recently visited New York on a whirlwind cultural arts visit and capped it off with a trip to Storm King. I cannot begin to describe how spectacular this place is - it almost defies description in it's ability to insill a sense of sheer joy as you walk about the grounds. Go, go, go - do not miss the opportunity... More

Love this place and took my grandson. He was ecstatic running up and down the hills and all the color and diversity of the sculptures. These are enormous pieces that need the acreage to adequately frame the works. Fabulous place to picnic as well and the complementary tram takes you around. No child will ever forget this place if metal... More

Stunning 500 acre sculpture park with incredible mountain views. Plan to spend several hours here if you are hiking and want to see it all. There is a tram that you can ride if you want to get a sense of what is there before you walk around, but then there won't be any surprises. We walked at least 6... More

This is truly an amazing place. The Center is a 500 acre parcel near the Hudson River in New Windsor NY that is devoted to large sculptures by known artists. The sculptures are laid out is various spots throughout the property. The rolling green hills and the forested landscape make this a wonderful and restful place to take a stroll... More
