First time visit on family recommendation. Spectacular scenery, views of Hudson Valley and Catskills, very striking cliffs and escarpments around a glacial "sky lake." Many side trails, an excellent day hike in a rare mid January sunny day without snow cover. Looks like cross country skiing would be quite exciting here too!

This was our second visit to this park. We had previously hiked the lake which had an awesome trail that traversed the upper cliffs surrounding Lake Minnewaska. On this trip we hiked to Awosting Falls. The falls were beautiful. Both hikes were very easy. The only issue today was that there was still some ice and snow on the trails... More

So many hiking trails, and pristine forest. This is a hiking area that has so much diversity for New England. One of my favorite trails leads around down to lake Minnewaska. I've been hiking every part of this area sinc to 70's, and can highly recommend it for short walks, long hikes, and fairly advanced climbs. Thisviscwhere I learned to... More

This is a great place to hike, with a nice walk around Lake Minnewaska or a choice of a couple longer trails that lead to Lake Awosting. I particularly enjoy the fresh air and serenity of this State park during the winter, especially after some fresh snow.

This review only based on the lake. I went when it's almost dark and drove straight up to the lake . It's easy access and you don't have to trek for the beautiful pictures because only 5 mins walking from the parking, you will already see beautiful clear water lake already. I'm sure the trails will be nice as well.... More

Worth the hour and 45 min from Westchester, Have heard about it, so headed up to mountain. Breathtaking foliage views, Great hill hikes and straight paths. Waterfall was interesting. Many couples and families along with single hikers and bikers. Parking was $10.00, ask for map once you pay.

This is a wonderland of trails, cliffs and lakes. I have been enjoying and exploring it for over 3 decades. In parts, it looks like Switzerland. Ins ummer, wild blueberries abound. Heaven

This park is just absolutely stunning. I have been dying to come here for a hike and my husband and our friend finally made it up here. It's about a 2 hour drive from NYC. It costs $10 a car to park and partake in what the park has to offer. It's absolutely worth it and it goes towards keeping... More

We headed out from Long Island to enjoy the fall season colors for a nice long weekend away. Stayed at Mountain Meadow BnB and hiked Minnewsaka. Visited the trickling waterfall and hiked up to the beautiful crystal-clear lake. Wonderful place with wonderful staff. Go early as parking lots get full!

On our way travelling to Oneonta and only had a few hours. Mohonk was highly recommended but felt the price was to high just for a day of hiking. Minnewaska is right next to Mohonk so I felt it had to be the same views. I was blown away how beautiful it was. It was mid October and most of... More
