lazy afternoon

very helpful staff at the Montour Falls public library. Very pleasant little town if you have a few hours to waste in the afternoon.

The Falls here can be fabulous or drab depending on rain conditions. This summer has been extremely dry and the Falls have been just a trickle most of the summer. After a heavy day of rain or two and they are back in their splendid glory.

Due to drought like conditions, the falls were not as pretty as we expected. The leaves are changing colors, which did add to the atmosphere. The small park is quaint.

I love that the town has highlighted this lovely little water fall. It's lit up at night as well! Walked over from Cooks Mansion.

We stopped here on our way back to PA but it wasn't flowing. Is probably a nice sight when there's water.

It was a bit lackluster when we were there - but it was in the middle of Upstate New York's drought.

I unfortunately didn't get a good day at the falls. There hasnt been a lot of rain in the area, so the falls weren't flowing much at all. But I can tell that when they do, they are probably a beautiful sight.

Falls you can see from the street as you drive by or stop and walk back to it. Down side is there is only space for one car to park in front of it or two very small cars. No parking on the street that runs in front of it. Unexpected surprise to see in a residential neighborhood.

Who expects to find a stunning waterfall located smack in the middle of a residential neighborhood? We didn't, so we were surprised to see this tiny little pocket park with a gorgeous waterfall-I expect that the neighbors are quite used to tourists stopping by their homes with cameras. There's no charge.

What a splendid surprise in the heart of town. Future king of France drew a sketch of this waterfall, which is presently in the Louvre. Louis Phillippe -- The so-called bourgeois king was the artist. He must've been a tourist in this area sometime around 1810 to 1820.
