This is to see the lighthouse on a beautiful fall day. It is a little bit of a hike, but it is is worth it. This is a historic site that is only a short drive away from the hustle of NYC.

Didn't go inside, parking too expensive. I could see the outside, which is interesting, but can't comment on the inside.

We went to Montauk and it was beautiful weather and a nice place to visit. If you want a relaxing and historic sight to go to in New York I would recommend going here.

This is the first lighthouse in NYS. There's a museum attached. Moderately difficult walk up 11 flights of narrow stairs if you want to get to the top. Nice park and trails around with some very nice views.

It was a little pricey to get in ($11 each) but you can go through the museum and find very interesting facts about the lighthouse and the keepers. The view at the top is amazing! Definitely worth it!

Everything a bit over priced and touristy I would advise you to visit some of the nearby towns as well

Great activity, climb to the top of the lighthouse was well worth it. Best to do the climb on a cool day. Lots of trails around the lighthouse to walk. Staff in the gift shop was very nice and helpful.

From memory:- Public parking opposite this venue is $8.00. Entrance to the lighthouse is $10.00 for adults, cheaper rates for children & I think senior citizens/pensioners. Admission fee includes climbing the tower to the... More

I did see several dogs leashed on the property. I do believe they can go in the lighthouse though
I would like to take pictures of the sunrise by the lighthouse. How early can you drive up close to the lighthouse?

The Montauk Point State Park is open sunrise to sunset, so technically you can get there at "sunrise" on any given day - check the sun tables for the day you want to go.
