Ile aux phare is a wonderful island. that i mpost enjoy is when you take the boat in mahebourg and the ride till the island is very enjoyable. On the island you have a beautiful landscape of the south Mauritius and the view of the beautiful Lion mountain.
Can have your lunch there and have a swim an relax.
Must to do this activity if you can!!

We visited Ile aux Phare during a boat trip. We were allowed to visit the island. It is a bit hard for the boat to go near the island then we had to walk in the sea to get on the island but it was worth it. Stunning nature around the island plus and old historic lighthouse is there! There were some endemic lizards that live only on the island therefore be careful when you walk around!

I have visited this island over 10 times and can never get enough of its beauty.
Be careful, avoid the edge of the cliffs and bring your shoes.

The old light house is the focal point of the island, but take time to look at the island itself and particularly take in the sea views. All really quite splendid.

Being an architect I look for beautiful ambience and being a Vastu scientist I prefer serene places. I found best combination of both at this place. Turquoise transparent water attracts both body and soul. A must visit place.

this lovely small island is accessible through speed boats, but offers a wonderful sea experience; great beach to swim, spot to view the oceans and great place for a fishing trip; protect yourself from the hard sun!

This is a little island which covers just over 6 acres off the Bay of Grand Port. You can reach it via a speedboat excursion from the south east of the island. It was discovered by the Dutch in 1598 and it is about 8 kms from Mahebourg.

The island contains a historical monument, a lighthouse built in 1864 with a unique stone spiral staircase. The lighthouse is dilapidated but their are plans for some restoration work.

The island is almost more beautiful from the beach, because the ballet of boats to get there is like an uninterrupted waltz.
