We were there this past Wed. and it was just a perfect day at the beach. No crowds other than the people there for a Surfers Healing event, which is why we were there. It was very clean and so beautiful. I really enjoyed walking...More

This beach is a little secret. Most people on long island go to Jones Beach or Long beach. Lido beach is clean, not crowded and beautiful rocks rising from the ocean.

I moved into the area last fall and went to a few of the bars and restaurants. This spring my wife and I got new bikes and ride them on the boardwalk in the mornings. The beaches are large with life guards, volley ball nets,...More

As beaches go, this one is terrific! There is a boardwalk with easy access to nearby restaurants, white sands and plenty of public bathroom access. There are fees (before 6pm) to ener the beach area. The community paid dearly from the devastation of Hurricane Sandy...More

Easy to get to. Right off the parkway. And parking close to the beach to make the hike down the shore line easier. Great playground for the kids and a skate park. There is also a small consession stand but limited options.

I don't live in the town of Hempstead, but I treat myself to this beach four times a year. I would spend $100 on a dress, this beach is for my soul! I love this family beach.

I've been to many beaches on the South shore of Long Island, and this is my favorite because its only $8/car & the walk from parking lot to beach is nothing!

Being that public money is helping restore the south shore of LI back to where it was pre Sandy, I really hope that the people of the Town of Hempstead allow non town residents to enter without paying $25. Pros: It is a beautiful beach...More
