We walked and cruised under the bridge while vacationing. We received great information regarding the building and function of the bridge as well as it appeared to be upside down. We were able to take the info back to our son who wants to be an engineer. He enjoyed the story.

This is visible from the Pine Streer bridge where many have taken to the secret tradition of writing a note or signing their name and date on a lock and then locking to the fence on on bridge. You can walk across the upside down bridge or tressel by entering the tracks at your own risk near the zip line attraction. There is a man walk but it is a long way down to your death if you dare to cross. This picture is from the middle of the upside down bridge of the locks.

If you go to the Cave tour or ride on the canal you will see the bridge as you walk under it. It isn't really a stop to itself. Our tour guide on the Cave tour brought it to our attention but that was about it.

You can see this bridge on 2 separate excursions. The Lockport Cave & Boat ride & the Lockport Lock & Erie Canal Tour. On the Canal tour, you ride under the bridge. While on the Cave tour, you walk under the bridge. Interesting either way.

The Upside Down Railroad Bridge is located near the Erie Canal locks. It was built for trains to go over the Erie Canal. For layman not architecture, it is a nice interesting design. The tale tell information also adds to trivia knowledge for visitors. If you visit the Erie Canal Museum, it is right there with a few minute walk you will be under it.

Just recently went for a walk by the canal near Upson Park and that's where you can see a good view of the bridge and walk under it.

You can't walk on the railroad bridge, you can't even approach it. All you can do is walk below on the Erie Canal Trail in Lockport. Still, great photo opportunities abound, especially if you can catch a rare train crossing. But, definitely check it out, just a block from the Flight of Five Locks and the Lockport Cave tour.

Not a lot to say about this. Apparently it was a cost saving measure many years ago and still functions as a railroad bridge. Pretty neat to see - kind of tricks the eyes.

We went under this bridge on the Lockport Eerie Canal boat ride and the story is that this was placed because the towns people didn't want tall cargo ships to be able to pass. Not sure if this is true but it is kind of funny.
