A very interesting and beautiful place to walk. There is not an abundance of seating options which was even more limited by the rain on our visit (just over an hour). Very glad we went - it was a nice change of scene after Port Louis.

We visited curepipe as a whole including the gardens

The markets were brilliant , so was the high street
You don’t get ripped off here as they charge Mauritian prices & not tourist ones

We used Book your own licences taxi - we used raj Ramdin +230 5 779-2519 @ MUR 3500 for driver with car for 8 hours all inclusive (£57 )
He was brilliant!

The botanical aspects are most interesting with some magnificent trees. Generally run down and tatty. There is a fenced enclosure with local antler deer that needs a serious upgrade.
The 'guides' need to change their attitude. No one is obliged to use their service, but they are rude and unhelpful if you prefer to take your own time exploring.
Small untidy kiosk selling cool drinks at inflated prices.

I had read this is the second-best Botanical Garden after Kew in London – NOT true. This is a small BG; you can cover this in 45 minutes. On the way, I am afraid you pass both a small flock of deer and tortoises which by no means have great living space and area.

There are no toilet facilities and no café facilities. Nice to see the gardens, but do not expect anything like Kew Gardens, London.

You don’t need a guide to visit Curepipe . It is an absolute waste of money . You can just walk around or even use our public transportation.

If you do insist on going like me 😂 go on a Sunday or Bank holiday when free to go in. The Gardens need to have a better up keep and the house you can look around is full of pigeon poop all over the floor which is discusting to see.

We liked the place a lot, but without the guide we took probably it wouldn’t be so interesting. There are a few turtles the kids enjoyed to see (patting is not allowed) , deers and a colonial house which was quite empty and not well maintained .
Remember to bring mosquito repellent!

Well it’s a garden. Some nice trees and it’s lovely to walk around the garden. Don’t expect much but it’s not disappointing...

Great park for children.
Pond a little uninspiring.
Good for a little game of soccer with kids on nice green grass.

If you are in Curepipe and I was on business this is one of the few things to do touristy. But it is not well maintained and it is no where near the wonderful and duly famous botanical garden in Pamplemousses. Go to that one
