Having driven ever higher up into the local mountains, we were amply rewarded. Minnewaska features a glorious lake, which we enjoyed on a perfect-weather day. A two-mile path leads around the water, offering a variety of spectacular vistas plus some quieter, more forested areas. This...More

Paid $10 to park our vehicle. Directions to trailhead were not clear, but thankfully, we found it. It was a short, easy hike to the falls on a 90some degree day but it was well-worn the hassle! Awosting Falls was beautiful and refreshing. We dipped...More

We hiked the Peters Kill Trail at the Minnewaska State Park Preserve. We hiked only the 3 mile loop because it was icy and slippery and you had to negotiate the various paths and some steep hills. You access this trail behind the Park Office...More

This park offers cross-country skiing. That's an amazing feature on top of all the trails in winter time. Views around Minewaska Lake are beautiful and are worth the visit for sure. Great outdoor activity terrain for any time of the year!

Is there a fee to hike? If so, is it per person or per family?

There is a fee to park, but not to hike. You can find some free parking off the beaten path if you feel adventurous, but I wouldn't advise it.
