You can't really spend more than 20 minutes in this place. There is very, very little to see. As you walk in, you pay 1,000CFA to enter or 2,000CFA if you also want to take pictures. There are guides (both English and French speaking) available. These are compulsory.

The guide takes you around the very small complex where there are a few interesting artefacts from the voodoo religion. The circular hut where the pythons are is, unsurprisingly, the main attraction. You can go inside, hold the pythons and take a few pictures. The pythons don't seem to do much except sleep. The guide was friendly and there are a few interesting souvenirs in the shop at the end of the tour.

This is an amazing place if you’re not afraid of snakes. The pythons are harmless. This is a religious site, and you can go inside the temple for some quality time with the pythons. Recommend.

There is really only one thing to see here, but the story of the snakes is fascinating. The guides do a good job of answering questions also.

The temple is rather small, but they do have a room full of snakes - I would estimate 30-40 pythons of various sizes.

You can safely take them in your hand and make the obligatory photos with the snake calmly resting on your neck (or in your hands).

Its definitely a must-see when you are in Ouidah!

While visiting the historical city of Ouidah, it is a must seen place to go to and see how the local religion cohabitated very well with those religions imported through colonization. This temple is full of pythons which are do not bit human beings and with whom you can play.
It is a must experienced element of Benin.

A must. I never thought I'd put one around my neck but I did. Fascinating indeed...they release them at night to feed and the villagers bring them back!

Feels more like a tourist trap than an authentic traditional spot. However, it is very impressive to hold a python. Guide were not very delicate. One was talking to me and the other just put the python around my neck without any warning. Fortunately I was calm, but I know many people who would have fainted!

The irony of having a Catholic church right opposite the python Temple known for Vudoo is amusing. The Genesis of the temple is something worth knowing about. And the most interesting part is having a Python swing from around your neck. It is scary but a MUST do when you go to the temple. It's all about Pythons and strong Vudoo beliefs. Anthropologist would love it here. The love for thrill took me there to experience the pythons. I encourage you to go there too. Ouidah is about an hour from town. You can then follow the walk of no return by the slaves in the same place.

Pythons are very sacred creatures. This temple is dedicated to them and they are worshipped by the people of Ouidah. The tour lasted about 30 minutes and included holding a python and a look into the python temple where the pythons are crawling around freely on the floor. Once a month, the pythons are let out into the village to eat and then slowly return back.
