My husband and I were part of a specially booked group, and we absolutely loved our trip. The afternoon was sunny and pleasant, and the narration on board was interesting and engaging. The wind can get a bit chilly. I would recommend this to people wanting to experience Cayuga Luke, One of the beautiful Finger Lakes.

It was a nice little boat ride but I definitely do not think it was worth the money per person for the experience.

My wife and I were on a road trip around New York State and staying in Ithaca. Before we departed from home we researched this boat tour and decided that we would like to do the trip. We arrived early to make sure we secured a good seat on the boat. Whilst waiting for the boat to depart we were chatting to the captain and his assistant about the time the tour would start. We were the only people on the pier at that time. I said to the captain that we had travelled 4000 miles from the UK to take the tour and wanted to be the first in the queue to secure a good position and seat on the boat. He said that he would make sure that we would be first to take our seats. The tour was fantastic and we really enjoyed the cruise around Cayuga Lake. The captain and his assistant were first class and the Captain's assistant gave a great commentary as we travelled around the lake. My wife and I really enjoyed the tour and it made for a memorable day for us in Ithaca. Well done guys!

This was a perfect way to cool off on a summer Saturday. The views were impressive. The commentary interesting though somewhat hard to hear.

I started riding the MV Haendel years ago and have become hooked ever since. This lake as well as this boat have come to mean a lot to me as my most happy times have been spent around Cayuga Lake and on these cruises. I can't go a summer without being on at least one tour. I'm so glad there is a way for the public to get out on this amazing lake.

Just wanted to share some feedback and voice my displeasure with today’s boat ride with Ithaca Boat Tours.

We had done a dinner cruise a few years back from the Ithaca general location. It was a much larger boat and that was what we were expecting. The smaller boat would have been fine except it was oversold!! 26 people on that small boat was ridiculous!! The last two guests to board didn’t have seats or shade and were standing on the outside of the boat for the full 2 hrs. We were encouraged to bring a picnic, food aNd beverages, but had to balance them on your knee to try to eat. Table seating was advertised bUt that was in the lower compartment and it was a 90 degree day. No one took advantage of that location for obvious reasons!!
The young lady who was our hostess and did the narrating did a good job and was very personable. We did not hear a word from the “captain”.
So to conclude I think this tour was VERY, VERY, VERY overpriced and VERY, VERY OVERSOLD.

I recently enjoyed a steamboat ride of similar length at Lake George for $15!!!! This was $36 for a crowded, uncomfortable boat ride advertised as a picnic lunch cruise where YOU provide your own picnic lunch and are not even provided a space to eat it!!. I would not do this again and I certainly would NOT recommend this to anyone. It was very disappointing and I felt doubly bad since I had arranged this for my friends.

We certainly apologize for your experience ! We have still been unsuccessful reaching you by phone or email, please email or call us back to claim your 150.00 gift certificate from us. We also went ahead and provided a full refund for your group the following day. We have made several changes as a direct result of your experience and feedback, please join us again to experience the 'All New Picnic Lunch Experience' As for the temperature, I'd recommend an evening or morning cruise if you are particularly sensitive to Upstate NY summertime weather, we offer several alternate time options. UPDATES TO PICNIC LUNCH CRUISES The official USCG capacity is 38, we already limited tickets to 26, however, the very next day we lowered it further to 20. The increasing Picnic Lunch Tour popularity caught us by surprise. Historically in 10 years, that cruise had never reached capacity. That was a first for us, we had not anticipated the lunch space requirements. Wonderful antique tables topside are also available for groups to use in addition to our normal table seating in the cabin. Hopefully the message will reach you, please call and claim your gift certificate ! I think you will find the experience much improved, and again, we appreciate the feedback, however speaking directly or by email would have been more ideal. Again, we strive to provide a wonderful experience. Good communications help everyone in the end.

The 2 hour picnic cruise is a delightful way to spend an afternoon on the lake. Bring a picnic lunch or some wine and cheese and just enjoy the scenic beauty all around you. Captain Paul and first mate Sandy are friendly and full of interesting facts about the lake. Water and soda are available for sale and there is a head (bathroom) aboard.

What a blast! The day we went or was particularly windy, so we got sprayed a lot and it definitely added to the fun! It was an awesome way to learn more about the area. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and patient, we had tons of questions s and he answered every one. We were surprised to find out that most of the people on our tour were locals, so it seems like this is just an all around fun thing for anyone, whether you’re from the area or just visiting. An absolute MUST DO. These guys were great!!

Worth the time and effort. We had the boat to ourselves on a rainy day. None the less we enjoyed getting on the water and were spoiled by the captain and tour guide. Two thumbs up.

Thank you for joining us during such an authentically "nautical" day. We appreciate the review, and it was our pleasure to have you aboard.

I loved this boat tour! The guide was very knowledgeable, and made the tour interesting. He was willing, and available, to answer questions. The workers were very accommodating. The day that we went was very windy; we had left jackets in the car, because our walk to the boats had not started out windy. They gave us a large, warm, blanket in which to wrap ourselves. They also pointed out that the cabin was heated, although we wouldn't have been able to see as much.
My son had previously gone on this tour, and has been asking me to take him, again, for years. Because of the price ($ 25/pp), I wouldn't go, but took him, last weekend, as a birthday present. I'm so glad that I went! It was definitely worth it! While I don't usually give tips, I did this time.
