A walk of about 30 minutes takes you right next several stunning waterfalls. You're in the middle of town but it feels like another world.

An uphill hike on a well maintained path. The cascading waterfalls are breathtaking. The hike is roughly 1.3 miles from bottom to top. We happened to travel uphill and passed many traveling downhill. A beautiful sunny day made for a wonderful and tiring experience.

A beautiful gorge walk, steep at times but not a super challenging walk. Busy when college is in session

Beautiful trial and falls hike near Cornell University campus! Plenty of breath taking picture spots. Parking can be found on streets near Cornell.

It was a pretty walk but if you have any mobility issues skip it. The "railings" are chain, not helpful if you need help due to a bad hip. It is very steep going up. Had we come down. I would not have been able to manage at all with no real railings. Parking is also an issue.

Found this trail just by reading a local magazine. So glad! It was a hidden gem of a walk in the middle of the city with breathtaking views the entire walk. It is short and takes you from downtown right up to Cornell University, just an amazing find!

The Cascadilla Gorge Trail has always been one of my favorite attractions in Ithaca. It’s an absolutely beautiful walk from Cornell to downtown Ithaca. Sadly, the trail was closed for maintenance during our most recent trip, but we still enjoyed views of the gorge from several bridges. Enjoy.

This was a terrific hike, starting at the Treman Triangle park in Ithaca. There is a gravel hiking path and many, many, steps next to the river, rising up a reported 400 feet. It comes out on the Cornell campus, and then continues on much flatter. There are several waterfalls along the way. It was totally awesome. If you like hiking and nature this will not disappoint. Just be sure you have good shoes for hiking, and bring a couple of water bottles, which you will need especially on a hot day. One problem is parking near the Treman Triangle park at the bottom. Seemed like all metered parking with a 2 hour limit. I think even if you are in great shape you would have trouble making it to the end of the trail and back in 2 hours. We turned around about halfway but would have loved to go the whole trail. We saw someone getting a parking ticket so they do enforce the 2 hour limit.

Don't miss this hidden gem. We missed it the last time we were in Ithaca. This is a wonderful hike, easy and so beautiful. Was a little disappointed that part of trail was closed. The waterfalls are spectacular!

About how far is the gorge hike if we started at the bottom at University and ended at the top at College ave ? We want to know what we're getting ourselves into before we begin.

You might prefer hiking down rather than uphill, but that is your voice of course. About 1/2 mile; you might want to check any GPS app for a more accurate estimate.

I did see dogs on leashes— with humans holding the leashes.
