One of the best universities in the world and one of the most spectacular campuses. There is nothing more necessary to say about Cornell (perhaps I'm a biased alumnus whose child is not a student there but it is all true). Even if you don't go to school there, spend a day exploring the spectacular campus.

Past rural Ithaca, Cornell is nestled in a vibrant college town with lovely gorges, majestic buildings, and positive energy. Loved this place!

This campus is beautiful. The buildings are beautiful. The grounds are beautiful. The views are beautiful. It makes me almost want to go back to college again just to see all of this and to be able to take it all in everyday! Since it was summertime, we didn’t see very many students. I think they must have at least 30 minutes between classes because of how far the buildings are from each other!

We were visiting Ithaca in our NY trip and decided to stop by Cornell. We were advised not to walk there even though it is a short distance from our hotel. We drove up there and wow, the hills were very steep! The campus is beautiful but hard to find parking. School store has good merchandise and my kids got souvenir sweatshirts and pants. As we were near the end of the visit, a thunderstorm swept through the area and the pouring rain rushed down the steep hills, making me wonder if flooding would be an issue downstream. Our only regret for the visit - we couldn't find their creamery to try their ice cream!

I spent a few hours in Cornell University one morning. There are lovely buildings and grounds, unbelievably lovely libraries, a beautiful arboretum and a botanical garden.

We decided to take a walk on the Cornell Campus while visiting Ithaca during our vacation at the Finger Lakes. Approaching the campus is an amazing site. It's literally on a hillside. The campus is beautifully maintained. We even left with souvenir sweatshirts.

This place is worth visiting. One can enjoy the atmosphere of contemplation and serenity. Everything is planned to let curios minds concentrate on developing. There are huge shady trees, green lawns, lovely water falls, romantic bridges. It takes hours to do the place.

Don't pass through Ithaca without driving through, or better, walking through the Cornell campus. Amazing buildings and a fantastic view of all of Ithaca from the bell tower.

Is it open for the public or you can only get it with a tour?

The campus is quite large and there are fees to access some areas. The hostess at our B&B (William Henry Miller Inn) supplied us with a map and suggested going to then Gardens and the Art Gallery which has a great views of the valley from the upper floors. It's a beautiful hillside campus with metered parking everywhere.
Is there a recomended way to walk through the campus

Sign up for a tour. They are student led and you will learn some interesting facts that otherwise you wouldn't have known. The students do a fantastic job and then you can revisit other areas, ask questions and head out on your own.
