There is plenty of water in this waterfall, but because of the presence of the dam and the copious amount of iron fencing erected around the waterfall, it looks more like a giant spillway. If you think spillway is scenic, go for it.

While visiting Cornell, make sure to walk over to Triphammer Falls which you can view from one of the bridges.

Located on Cornell University's campus, it's easily accessible. It really is part of a dam built. You walk over the bridge and follow the trail around Beebe Lake. Pretty view. There is a smaller "hidden" waterfall you may discover!

Very disappointing. Campus is beautiful but the building in all the pictures of Triphammer Falls doesn’t exist anymore. Also the suspension bridge where you would get your best view was closed. No real good view of the gorge. Won’t be back here again.

I have been to most of the parks in NY, but this one was like being in Nature's Church, just like a cathedral. I was in awe of the falls, 215 feet, and the walls of stone, that seemed to envelope you in a roaring cocoon of roaring water and massive walls. The informational signage was very well done, and made me refresh my forestry college geology course. Just stunning!

Water from the lake is the source of the falls, which are nice but not as dramatic as others. If you only have time for a few falls, you could skip this one.

The Triphammer Falls are on the north side of the Cornell campus, part of a manmade structure formed by the dam at Beebe Lake. Yes, there are prettier falls in Ithaca, but these are interesting in their own right and accessible by a footbridge. Plus, the north side of campus is more secluded, and the attached walking trails around this lake are particularly quiet and peaceful. Recommended as part of a visit to north campus, as it is virtually adjacent to Cornell Botanical Gardens.

Just did the day before we came home. Absolutely breathtaking and gorgeous., Again, with all the rain, the falls were in full force.

Easy to see, located on the campus of Cornell. There is a small parking area and you can walk to it in a few minutes. There is a bridge that goes over it so you can get good views from both sides. The only thing I didn't like is they have added so much fencing on both sides of the bridge for safety it's hard to get a good photo.
