What a wonderful place! The falls just keep on coming and the steps alongside are fantastic - a true work of art! So many steps on the Gorge Trail - hope to take the Rim Trail next tiime!

The falls are spectacular
Oct 2021 • Family
We came here at the end of October. If you want to see the falls, go to the upper parking lot, it actually has the park name and Lucifer Falls on the entrance sign. It is about 1-1.5 miles past the lower entrance. You self pay to park ($9). Upper area has restrooms and a picnic area. The Gorge trail was breathtaking. You hike along the water past Devil’s Kitchen falls and the on to Lucifer Falls. Both are spectacular! If you do the whole Gorge trail it is 2.25 miles one way and ends at the lower park entrance. We chose to turn around after about 1.75 miles (before the steep steps) and head back to our car. It is a beautiful trail.

Awesome series of falls along a gorge.
Oct 2021
Awesome series of falls along a long and steep gorge trail. There are two entrances to the park. The lower entrance off SR327 and the upper entrance. The lower entrance and parking is close to the lower falls swimming and camping area, but a long hike up the gorge trail to the more awesome falls. The upper entrance is closest to most of the most interesting falls and gorge route. If you are not camping, seeing the falls and gorge from the Upper park entrance will save you over a half mile of climbing up to the best of the falls. The most scenic part of the gorge is about half a mile long nearest the upper park entrance.

The park is scenic with adequate facilities for all. However, the awesome "scenic" parts except for the lower falls area and the upper falls near the "old mill" would be inaccessible for anyone who is mobility impaired.

Even better than expected

The upper gorge trail is outstanding and leads to a dramatic waterfall. Very photogenic. It isn’t far from the north entrance parking lot.

Nice Scenery
Aug 2021
This park has many miles of trails that go through the gorge or along the rim. We hiked in the gorge trail to see the water falls close up. The trail has many steps and has places with drop offs so it is not appropriate for small children. If you don't mind the climb, the views are great and well worth the hike. There is also an old grist mill on site that you can tour for an added bonus.

Large Park
Aug 2021
Robert Treman State Park covers a large area with hiking trails, swimming area, playgrounds, etc. We were there to see the falls but only made it to the lower falls due to lack of time. The falls area is lovely; however, lifeguard chairs impact the actual view of the falls unless one is in the water. Some day we hope to return when we have more time to hike and explore other areas of the park.

Do NOT miss Robert Treman State Park
Aug 2021
For cars there is (1) Lower Entrance (105 Enfield Falls Road; Ithaca, NY 14850) and (2) Upper Entrance (from Lower Entrance turn left into Route #327; drive 3 - 4 miles up the road). Near Lower Entrance there is impressive Lower Fall; feeding a lake below; used for swimming. From Upper Entrance take Gorge Trail to walk along Lucifer Falls; impressive! You may walk Gorge Trail down to the Lower Entrance - but you don't have to.

Don't rent the north pavilion. Make you rent for two days and then still continue to charge us the parking fee! Highway robbery at it's finest!
