At the great cave of the Northeast, an elevator takes you 156’below ground. The doors open into a prehistoric underground cavern 6,000,000 years in the making! Trained tour guides help negotiate the cave and teach about its magnificent natural features. Back on the surface, mine for gemstones at Howe Caverns Mining Co. Beginning summer 2011, enjoy the first phase of Howe High Adventures—featuring ropes courses, climbing walls, zip lines and more!

When our original plans fell through, I suddenly read that Howe's Cavern was nearby (had vaguely heard of it, but was never sure where it was). Debated whether to go or not. $75 not cheap for a family of 4, and was wondering if any...More

Located near Albany but a little bit off the beaten path in a rural area of farms and woods. We came around noon on a Sunday and waited only 15 minutes before we were taken on the "basic" tour, myself and my young children, only...More

We decided to give this a try, and we're so glad we did. We arrived just before opening to try and beat some of the crowd, and got on the first tour. Our guide Becca made it fun and interesting. The caverns are quite impressive...More

It's a really cool cave. Really. Great formations. Underground river. Going through the last section of S turns was awesome. But tour guide Sam has to do a better job. He is young and has no enthusiasm for the job. It's like he was reading...More

Mysterious and uniquely beautiful is the passage through Howe Caverns. View the varied rock formations, the natural stone sculptures, and the subterranean lake. Take the boat ride over what was once part of a glacial ocean that covered upstate New York. A tour guide first...More

I was a first time visitor and cannot believe that a natural attraction existed like the caverns. The story behind finding the caverns is pretty interesting. Worth the money and the wait. Get there early and wear warm clothing. Be prepared to be in 50...More
