Beautiful island with many green turtles feeding right in front of the beach.

Calm environment, no mass tourism, and amazing lunch at the beach.

I'm so thankful we decided to stay for four nights on Nosy Sakatia. This lovely little island had a very clean beach, with more natives than tourists. We enjoyed wonderful swimming, deep-sea fishing, and excellent food. We made friends with a lemur and laughed at the shy crabs. Gorgeous views from the hillside where we enjoyed a private bungalow. Everyone was so warm and friendly. We definitely loved this little paradise.

If you want to swim with giant sea turtles this is the place to go. We saw and swam with 4 big turtles. Also plenty of coral and tropical fish to see while snorkelling

Incredible experience. I loved it so much I went there twice! As you look at the beach area from the sea, to the far left is the best coral reef I've seen in my life. It is a living reef with many colors and fish of all kinds. It's an underwater jungle. Closer to the beach is the sea grass with huge turtles everywhere. They are bigger than me from head to tail. These turtles are not shy and they are used to people swimming over, under and around them. Please don't grab them or harass them.

Easy snorkeling in shallow water with easy beach or boat access. One can swim from the beach. Clean, clear water. Shopping on the shore with the locals.

Our trip to Sakatia Island was wonderful. The excursion started with the boat ride from Vanilla Beach. Our guide took us through a local village and onwards through the local forest. We learned about the native plants and history of the island. We then snorkeled with turtles and enjoyed swimming with the fish in the coral reefs. Our journey continued on to a private beach where we enjoyed a delicious lunch of local foods. Our table was covered with linen and set beautifully. After lunch we enjoyed time to swim and relax enjoy n the beach.

We were lucky to spend a couple of hours on sakatia island. We enjoyed the visit of the forest though we didn't have more interaction with the inhabitants except for the lady selling goods and offering non professional massages. The food prepared specially for us was delicious. The snorkling to watch the giant turtles was not very interesting for me. It is worth visiting and swimming in a sea reserved for you. Of course this is not the high season.

Did a day excursion from our hotel to this beautiful island. We took a boat trip to the island and spent the morning snorkeling from the boat.We swam with the giant turtles which was such fun. There are lots of them around and one gets to swim very close up to them. What a great experience. The part of the island where we were did not really have coral and there was basically no fish to see.One comes here to see the turtles only.We ate lunch on a private beach on Nosy Sakatia which was lovely and then snorkelled and relaxed before the boat trip back to our hotel.A must to do when staying at Nosy Be.
