This is a small nature reserve, but beautiful and well worth a visit. There are plenty of lemurs, chameleons and other exciting smaller animals. We even saw a large boa constrictor. The little village nearby is also very cute, and we had an amazing local lunch there. Our guide took us there in a local canoe that we had to... More

We spent an hour around here. We enjoyed feeding the lemurs. There was also a crocodile and a giant tortoise.

Nice boat ride to the reserve with a wet landing and a steep climb, all worthwhile. All sorts of critters but the main attraction would be the lemurs! Of course, you can see them running up to you in town as well but I think it best to see them in their environment!

Saw chameleons and lots of different lemurs. Excellent guide with a ton of local knowledge. Superb lunch !! Well worth a visit, but take the Mozzi spray with you.

My wife and I visited this reserve while in Nosy Be. Besides seeing crocs, chameleon, and tortoises, we were surrounding by lots and lots of lemur - brown ones, black& white ones, black ones, etc - all posing for photos, but you had to be fast as they were jumping all around on the trees - still great to see.... The part of the reserve accessible to tourists is small, but you can see pretty much all the wildlife that's in the reserve in just 2 or 3 hours. If you do a tour that includes lunch after, be prepared to eat a big meal of fresh seafood and side dishes. Worth a visit!

Do NOT agree to paddle to the village. We also went with Jon Pierre. He was supposed to have enough paddlers for the traditional canoes so that our paddling was optional. An hour of tough paddling against the wind, with 3 elderly tired tourists and one small local paddler, and when we finally arrived, we barely had any energy to... More

Really enjoyed seeing the local flora and fauna. To have a Lemur eat banana from your hand is a real treat! The giant tortoise was great. We bought Ylang Ylang oils that are made on the property at the gift shop.

Lots of lemurs, snakes, pigymy cameleon, lizards, and lots of mosquitos, so don't forget to take strong repellent!

we spent an hour rowing into deep forested hills in an old wooden canoe to reach the village of Lokobe and an hour's trekking in the forest enabled us to see all sorts of endemic species including a boa constrictor, chameleons, lemurs and many other varied plants and animal species. Make sure you cover well and apply voth sun and... More
