The sunset from Kariba Heights is one of the best in the world! Wildlife is easy to come across with zebra and baboons wandering about the town and elephant, waterbuck and lots of birdlife at the lakeside.

Take the ferry from Binga to Kariba, go out on a speed boat, spend a night or two on a house boat, camp on the edge of the lake in Zambia. There is always so much to see and do.

Lake Kariba is beautiful as well as wild, we saw crocs on the side of the lake, and a few hippos during our boat ride.

Not expensive at all to go visit the dam wall. Cost US$1.00 for vehicle entry. Important to have identity card for Zimbabweans and for foreigners passport is required to visit the wall. Views are spectacular. Gets very hot midday to 2pm.

Sharing this unique history of Kariba is a great experience. Ideal for both young and old. A good experience for children as they get to see hydro electricity in progress.
