I have now been to this museum three times and on each occasion---2 with a guest---my friend Matt, who works as a volunteer tour guide and docent, gave a personal tour. The history of aviation is indeed fascinating and this museum traces back to its earliest attempts at flight right up to the space age. There are hundreds of fascinating... More

The museum itself seems as though it would be so exciting... it is if your son or daughter is over 10 years old and maybe doing a book report. Remember it's a museum... you walk around gain knowledge, buy expensive sandwiches and keep going. Overall I'd say meh. I could've looked at it online but then I remembered I did... More

We really enjoyed the museum. My Father in law work for Grumman so we were able to share what he worked on with our kids. You can also go into the firemen museum also. A great place to bring kids.

A very nice museum, has vintage aircraft, space craft, and even an exhibit dedicated to firefighters with a few vintage fire engines. Interesting and fun for all ages.

My family and I have been to many cities and to many museums. We have seen some great ones and some not so great ones but I have to say that the Cradle of Aviation ranks right up there. I wouldn't have thought that right on Long Island there would be a museum with such fire power as the Cradle.... More

As a pilot anything aviation related excites me. This museum is outstanding: aircraft and cockpits you can sit in; interactive displays, authentic video footage throughout; and much historical significance covering the Wright Bros, Lindbergh and lunar landing. Disappointed that many of the hands-on simulators and displays were not working. Realistic adult admission of $15 gave me the run of the... More

This is a really nice Museum with great displays showing the history of aviation from the Wright brothers to space flight and everything in between. If you live on Long Island it is an easy drive with lots of free parking. Tip: some Long Island libraries have a free pass program for this and many other museums

Amazing expeiernce for the family....especially being a native Long islander. Conveniently located near the New Nassau Coliseum and the Fire Fighters Museum, as well as the Children's Museum....no wonder they call it "Museum Row"

We took our granddaughter to see the festival of trees held at the museum. There were lots of attractions and activities for her. She especially enjoyed the cookie decorating and then we all got to see all of the regular attractions at the museum. She was able to sit in an airplane seat and look out the window of a... More
