Opened in 1930, as one, small shop, Vidler's has grown to become the largest 5 & 10 store in the world! Today the third generation of the Vidler family runs the store which has become a local landmark and destination point for shoppers near and far. A great place for the entire family and out-of-town guests, we are an old fashioned five and dime store, and so much more! With 2 levels occupying 4 connected, 19th century buildings, our many counters overflow with a wide variety of merchandise. From nostalgic candy and toys, kitchen gadgets and crafts to the newest items for the recreational shopper, our distinctive shops feature gifts, home decor, jewelry, candles and seasonal decor. A one-of-a-kind shopping experience awaits you at Vidler's, located on East Aurora's historic, red-brick Main Street.

Vidler's 5 & 10 should be on everyone's Buffalo (and surrounding areas) Bucket List. Walking up to Vidler's feels like time traveling back to simpler days. The classic window decorations and the style of the building are so cute! The inside is equally adorable. This place seems to have EVERYTHING you could possibly imagine in a craft shop, drug store,... More

I had been to the store years ago and on our recent trip stopped in to see what was new. It was a delight to see a new gift section where the courteous sales lady helped me pick out a perfect thank you gift and wrap it as well. The store is amazing with so many different departments and thousands... More

We usually love stopping at Vidlers for that special gift, for the unusual or hard to buy for person. It still is, but it seems like they are beginning to become less of what made them so special and more of what every other shop has become. It's still fun to walk through and see what quirky "one of a... More

The building is an old fashioned 5 & 10 with it's wooden floors but the attraction stops there. All the merchandise inside is overpriced and made in China! You'd be better off buying this junk from your local Dollar Store chain - at least you wouldn't pay as much. Housewares, cards, fabric, cooking utensils etc. are ancient, imported and second... I don't understand the attraction. Old store filled with old stuff. Looks like it is going out of business. Items are sparsely displayed on shelves. Kitchen gadget section was the best part. Drove two hours to spend twenty five minutes looking at a Flea Market.

Carl: I'm sorry that you were disappointed in our store, but I can assure you that our merchandise is all new and that we do not buy close-outs or overruns. We prefer to think of some of it as 'nostalgic' vs. old! As far as the shelves being sparse -- you're right. However, they always are at this time of... More

This is a wonderful example of an old fashioned five and dime store on steroids! They truly have almost anything you could want here. Room after room of merchandise, some of it that you can't find anywhere else. Very friendly staff, old fashioned candy display and even a carousel horse ride for the kids! Look for "Vidler on the Roof"... More
