Very exciting to visit this historic home. It is undergoing a remarkable rehabilitation to return it to it's original roots. The setting is extraordinary, with gorgeous views of the lake and surrounding hills. I've visited historic homes throughout the US; this one is extraordinary due...More

A treat for those interested in architecture, history, the decorative arts. Our guide was a graduate student doing research at Fenimore HOuse. He was very informative and interesting.

Went with my husband was a cold day so perfect for a tour. The house was very interesting and the tour informative. The grounds were beautiful as was the view of the lake.

This was a good way to spend an hour. The house evokes similar (but much grander) country homes in England (which the design was based on) but a definite American slant to it. The guides clearly love the property, and the State continues to invest...More

This is absolute must-visit site. Hyde Hall is steeped in history including being the site of the founding of the Girls Scouts. Also, several US Presidents have visited the home. The quality of historic preservation work is outstanding as well.

We just happened by here. The view was beautiful. It was worth a quick stop. We only walked the grounds but did not go in. We did speak with a staff person who gave us good information on the property and the surrounding area.

What a gem this place is, if you like history of our Country then this is a must see. Dates back to the 19th century it is a beautiful home with a lot of character and history.

I have played several concerts at this venue and always found it an ideal space. It is not Buckingham Palace, but nonetheless an intriguing window onto the past.

We drove here since it is right around the corner from the Glimmerglass Festival and near Cooperstown. After a gravel road into the place, there is a nice set of exhibits and a good tour on the hour. The house has views of Otsego Lake...More
