The best way to enjoy the lake is to use the lake and all it has to offer. Went for the boat tour to see the full expanse of the lake and also rented a kayak. Next time maybe we'll try and pontoon boats.

Unfortunately everything was closed. We did walk around to check out the boating area. Would some day like to return to fish the lake.

We visited mid week in in mid September and enjoyed some quiet time at the beach in Glimmerglass Park. A lovely break in stressful times.

We were visiting Cooperstown and strolled down to the lake. There is a nice marina with a great view of the lake. Power boats and sail boats were all out enjoying the day. A very picturesque view from Lake Front Park. Great photo ops.

We spent 4 days touring around the Cooperstown area. Every day was a new view of Otsego Lake. Unfortunately, we were not able to go on a boat tour-as while we were there they were closed down for COVID. We saw it from 2 parks in Cooperstown, the Otesaga Inn, Glimmerglass State Park, and Glimmerglass Opera. We saw it during the day, and in the evening.
Spectacular!!

Otsego Lake is a beautiful place to spend the day. Bring a camera to capture the beauty of the lake and surrounding area. The water is cool and clear, plenty of fish.

Otsego Lake is an 8 mile long, 4000+ acre gem with Cooperstown, a gem itself at it's southern edge. From Council Rock Park, you came see the source of the Susquehanna river as it heads south 444 miles to the Chesapeake Bay. Geologically related to the Finger Lakes, but not considered one since they flow north as part of the Lake Ontario watershed. With tremendous views, crystal clear water, beaches, boating, fishing, it is truely a regional jewel. A ride around Otsego is great, passing the historic Hyde House,Glimmerglass State Park and Opera.

Is there boat tours on the
lake and if so how much?

Yes but check first as the seasons have much to do with availability. They leave from the town dock Near the Hotel Otesaga at the foot of Lake Otsego. Prices anywhere in Cooperstown for about anything are reasonable.

Is Otsego Lake a good lake for water skiing? Is there a limit on horsepower for this lake?

It is and I do not think there is a horsepower limit. There are several public launch sites on the lake.
Looking to rent 2 cottages on lake that are pet friendly any suggestions cottages must be close together

How far from dream park is the lake

Dream Park is a very short distance from the lake. Just turn right coming out of the Park gate and follow 28 into Cooperstown. Turn right at Schneiders Bakery (delicious goodies to eat there) and follow the road the Lake Front Motel and the docking area for the Glimmerglass Queen is right there on the left. (don't miss a narrated boat ride down the lake past the Fenimore House and the King Fish Tower) very relaxing ride especially if you are enjoying a drink from the very well appointed bar. Enjoy! E.
