Perfect weather and a perfect boat tour and history of the Rock Island Lighthouse and the islands around this part of the River as it is called. The Saint Lawrence Seaway. Captain Matt maneuvered our glass bottom boats around the many islands, shoals and rocks so we could see close up the many sights of this tour. Passing by the rum runners haunts of the prohibition days. Our stop at the Lighthouse was great. An hour to wander the island, keepers house and climb the light house to the top. Channel marker 211 is located just off the island. Huge cargo and container ship travel almost an arms length away from this location. Historic references to shipwrecks throughout this River and passing by one still beached were it was lost so long ago. Passing by Thousand Island Park, an enclave of over 300 homes preserved over time from the late 1870’s. Late 19th and 20th century architectural style can be seen preserved in time and judiciously cared for. Eel Bay at Wellesley Island, Shark Rock, the Speed Boat house and the many stories told by First Mate and tour Guide Matt, not related were fascinating and informative. On our way back we learned about the history of the great hotels, The Hotel Frontenac and the great fire. Passing over huge dock pilling submerged below our boat from the days of this grand hotel. The Post Office and a tour past Clayton, waterside was a great ending to a super tour.

Always have wanted to venture to 1000 Ialands and finally had the opportunity to do so for a fun filled 3 day venture from Watertown to Clayton to Alexandria Bay.We enjoyed a Glass Bottom Boat Ride in Clayton, the Beauty that surrounds St. Lawrence River is stunning and all the commorotity that goes along with the Serenity of the area. We were able to relax while sitting at the waterfront in colorful coordinated Adirondack Chairs. The music was a Bonus as we strolled The Riverwalk in Clayton and more ..
Alexandria Bay did not Dissappoint! A Great Dinner and service @ Cavallarios.
The Pier Scenery and Town filled us up before we had to travel Home, last stop hitting up Dark Island Distillery…. Oh I could go on and on.. will b back to Enjoy what we left behind.. Cheers !

This was a stop that was part of the 1000 Island boat tour. It was informative, Peter was amazing. Highly recommend! Rich with history, and we even saw a large cargo ship.

We lucked out and had a beautiful sunny day!! The boat captain and Morgan did an awesome job navigating and narrating the tour. They pointed out interesting facts and details about the area. I learned so much. We loved stopping at the island and ascending the lighthouse. Beautiful view. Nicely maintained. The New York State Park ranger that narrated the lighthouse tour was awesome too. The Thousand Islands are a gem in NY and I felt lucky to have seen this little nook within our State. The price was reasonable and I’d recommend it.

The entire 2 hours and 45 minutes was jammed packed with beautiful sights and interesting information. The tour allowed you to climb a lighthouse and her tales from the past about a region I knew little about.

They cancelled the trip due to low enrollment. I still haven’t got my refund from Tripadvisor. And I lost $6 due to fees . Don’t think I’ll use TripAdvisor again .
